ConsUsing this alone causes a breakout of blemishes. It's difficult to use during the pandemic. It's so sticky that it makes your mask cling to your face. I can't understand how dermatologists supposedly use this...

The application is smooth, and with this alone, I can confidently go out without additional makeup.
ConsLike most products, it does transfer onto masks, but that's hardly a drawback. The only real issue is that by evening, my eyes feel incredibly irritated. Unfortunately, this problem led me to discontinue use and become a skincare nomad.
TipApply it by gently dotting all over your face, then pat it in. This method ensures even application without any clumping.

I'm not sure about other benefits yet, unfortunately.
ConsIt's excessively oily and the smell is... ugh. When I put on a mask after applying it, a sharp odor rises up, making my eyes sting a bit. I checked the ingredients on Hwahae and bought it for sun protection after laser treatment for blemishes, but I'm getting a bunch of pimples on my nose. I suspect it might be because of this product...

Most sunscreens I've used before were white or occasionally yellow, so this brown one was quite intriguing. As someone with dry skin, I prefer moisturizing base products and sunscreens, and this one didn't disappoint. It applies smoothly like a cream, without feeling thick or heavy. Even with just the sunscreen on, my skin felt hydrated, which I was really pleased with.
ConsI usually don't have strong dislikes for products, so I tried this one without much thought. However, if you asked me if I'd buy it again, my answer would be no. The biggest issue was that after applying the sunscreen and cushion foundation, it would start to pill on my face, even after a short while. This had never happened with any sunscreen I've used before, so it was quite shocking every time. It seems the sunscreen doesn't layer well with makeup. It's time-consuming to fix when you're in a hurry, and it's hard to remove when it sticks to your hair. While I appreciate the hydration, it also feels sticky, often clinging to my hair. You'll definitely need powder around the edges. I apply it on my forehead too, but I wouldn't recommend it to those who are sensitive to stickiness. The price seems a bit steep. If it worked well, I might consider repurchasing despite the cost, but given the inconveniences, it feels overpriced for its quality. Although it's SPF 90, which should be great for summer, I'm not sure I'd reach for it then due to its stickiness. There are plenty of other moisturizing sunscreens out there, so I question if it's worth using this one despite the makeup pilling issues. I wouldn't recommend it to those concerned about these points!
TipThe high SPF would be most effective when applied during the harsh summer sun! It might be good for those who don't wear makeup and only use base products with sunscreen. If you notice any pilling on your face, gently patting the area might help a bit (though it doesn't completely solve the issue).

ConsAbsolutely not recommended for those prone to blemishes with oily skin! Every single time I applied this to my face, I broke out without fail. I have skin that's sensitive to oil, but I've never had a sunscreen cause such severe blemishes, itching, and overall chaos. At first, I wasn't sure if it was the sunscreen or my foundation causing issues, so it took a while to identify the culprit. Eventually, I realized this sunscreen was the sole cause of the itching and breakouts, so I had to stop using it. I'm considering using it on my body next summer instead. The high UV protection is good for extended outdoor activities, I'll give it that. The Hwahae keywords do mention it's on the oily side - if only I had checked the ingredients on Hwahae beforehand, I probably wouldn't have bought it. Lesson learned: always check Hwahae before making a purchase to avoid regrets.

Just using this alone was enough. Everyone around me kept asking why my skin looked so good. The sun protection factor is higher than anything you'd typically find in Korea, and when you apply it to your face, it truly gives you a radiant glow.
ConsI've been using this for about two years, and since I started, I've developed small bumps like millet seeds on my chin. At first, I thought it was just skin irritation from my scarf, but now I realize it might be because of this product. My mom finds it suits her very well and loves it, but for me, my skin seems to be getting more sensitive, and I don't think it agrees with me anymore.

I can't think of anything positive, unfortunately. I bought this cream type because I heard it's better for makeup application than the gel type I was using before...
ConsIt seems to clog my pores. After using it for a few weeks, I noticed a lot of tiny blemishes appearing. The gel type actually works perfectly fine under makeup!
TipThis product feels so rich that I had to blot my face with oil-absorbing sheets before applying makeup. My skin tends to be on the oilier side, so that might be why.

ConsInitially, it stung my eyes. I didn't realize then that this meant it wasn't suitable for me. I ended up with blemishes all over my face. The dermatologist had recommended the thicker formulation. When the aesthetician applied it, I had no issues. But when I bought the liquid reformulation online, it just didn't work for me.
TipPro tip: If you have sensitive, acne-prone skin, avoid this. If it works for you though, I'd be happy to sell you mine!

ConsI bought this sunscreen on my dermatologist's recommendation, but I felt betrayed when I checked the ingredients. No wonder my eyes stung so badly and tears kept streaming down on days I used it. I can't believe I was so naive not to realize it was because of this sunscreen.

It goes on a bit dark, but it doesn't dry out my skin. The glow is also nice.
ConsAfter reading reviews, it seems this might be causing my milia. I'm shocked looking at the ingredients now. It used to be my holy grail product...
