Skincare routine when skin condition is really bad:

(If you use the wrong cleanser and cream, the Care Gel and everything else will be useless. I think the starting point and root of all skin care is cleansing. When your skin is really bad, not doing any skincare routine at all might be the way to revive your skin, but that's not possible, so...)

Skincare routine when skin condition improves a bit:
Paula's Choice 8% AHA Gel + Sebamed Care Gel + Urea Cream or 100% Squalane Oil
*Once a week, 40% Mandelic Acid for 10 minutes
*Use Sulfur Ointment as a spot treatment

The ingredients are quite different in the products sold in Korea.
I purchase the Sebamed USA version from iHerb.
I wish the same formulation would be available in Korea as well.

Folliculitis with Acne / Combination Skin

Going around and around and around and around,
Finally, I've settled on a basic skincare product.
It took until my mid-thirties to settle down.
I've come a long way.
As a troubled skin person, I don't even think about functionality or whitening.
Nevertheless, as a slave to marketing,
I've always tried, and so I've always failed.

After experiencing years of no improvement,
I became so exhausted that I thought
just maintaining the basics would be enough.
Yes, whether it's fashion or skincare,
the basics are the most difficult.

That's when I met the Sebamed Care Gel,
which comforts my skin without any incompatible chemical or natural ingredients,
using only the bare minimum of ingredients.

I just want to stick to the 'basics' alone,
but unless I make it myself,
I wonder how many skincare products in the world
can provide just the basics without any allergy-causing ingredients.

Sebamed, with no special functions, just pH 5.5,
and made with the minimum allergy-excluding ingredients, 
is truly appreciative and grateful.

When my skin condition was really bad,
the products felt too dry and painful when applied,
but now, even in the fall, the Care Gel still feels moisturizing.


There's really nothing disappointing about it. I'm using it as a sample, and it's convenient to only apply it when I have acne. However, if I were to use it instead of my regular toner, it might be a bit drying on its own.

When women's magical periods are approaching, we tend to get acne, right? Before bed, I wash my face, apply toner, and then put this on. I focus on applying it to the areas with acne. By the next day, the pimples that were about to surface have subsided and are barely visible, and the larger pimples have also calmed down a bit!! I found it to be very effective!! It has an aloe gel-like texture and instead of absorbing it, I dab it on and don't touch my face until bedtime.

I haven't really found any downsides yet. The price also seems reasonable.

The moisturizing effect is so-so. This alone might not be enough, especially in the winter when my skin gets dry. So I usually apply toner first, then use this, and then follow up with a cream.
But even without the extra steps, it's still good.

I have acne-prone skin, and with proper management, it only flares up during hormonal periods, which is fine.
But when I use this during those hormonal periods, the acne subsides, albeit slowly. Even after just a few days of use, I can feel my skin getting smoother every morning.

I tried out a few samples that you provided.
When applying the gel type, there was a slight cooling sensation and it absorbed well into the skin.
Hmm.. I wouldn't say there are any particular standout benefits, just the cooling sensation and good absorption.

When your face is sensitive, breaking out, and itchy, just using this after toner can gradually improve your skin.

Now I only get the occasional big pimple, but even when I apply a lot (only at night), I'm not as satisfied with the results as when I first started using it...

I've been using this since last fall and my acne has improved a lot~ Back then, I would just apply this after toner and sometimes add an extra layer when my skin felt a bit dry. You really need to apply it thickly, especially at night, for it to be effective against acne. In the winter, I would very lightly layer the It's Skin Snail Cream on top. I find that using too much snail cream makes me break out.

I'm still using the Sebamed gel, but since sometime this year, it doesn't seem to be as effective as when I first started using it. I'm debating whether to repurchase it or not.
