My skin type is combination with a slightly oily T-zone, but overall it's quite dry. I've been using this product for so long I can't even remember how many years it's been. Due to my dry skin, I've wandered through the world of BB creams, foundations, and cushions quite extensively. I've tried other products while using this one, but I always come back to it. * Hydration I've tried many products claiming to be moisturizing, but when I applied just the base product, it always cracked and looked patchy. Then I discovered this product and fell in love. Not only does it feel hydrating right after application, but even hours later, there's no feeling of dryness and my skin has that coveted 'Inner Glow'. I've tried other Clinique products, but this one stands out as particularly good. For reference, here are some of the foundations I've tried in my quest to find the perfect one (if I included BB creams and cushions, the list would be even longer): - Make Up For Ever - Shu Uemura - Revlon - Bobbi Brown - Clinique Even Better - Innisfree - Laneige - Hanyul And many more... These were all popular hydrating foundations a few years ago. However, they either looked patchy or were so thin that they barely showed up on my skin. * Texture It has a rich, creamy consistency. Most liquid foundations that claim to be hydrating are too runny and slide right off my face, but this one feels like it has cream mixed in, giving it a satisfyingly thick texture. * Coverage While the coverage isn't high with just one layer, applying a second thin layer covers most blemishes. And even with layering, it doesn't look cakey or dry. I gave it 4 stars because there are some drawbacks, but I continue to use it because I haven't found a better product yet. * Longevity This isn't a foundation that lasts from morning to night. By afternoon, it starts to break down. So I touch up with a mist cushion. * Pump This product doesn't have a pump (I personally think this might be the biggest reason why it hasn't become more popular). This means you have to control the amount yourself. Clinique's official explanation is that they don't include a pump due to concerns that the thick texture might clog the dropper opening. * Discontinued??? In fall 2015, I was told it was discontinued both in Korea and in Europe where I was traveling. After that, I've been buying leftover stock online, but even that became harder to find. I thought they were completely out of stock and was looking for alternatives... but strangely, it seems they're selling it again. I was surprised to see this product pop up on Hwahae. 📌 Shortly after writing this, I went to the department store and confirmed it has indeed been discontinued. 😢📌 * Make sure to hydrate well in your skincare routine. A hydrating toner is good, or you can use a moisturizing sunscreen. * Apply thinly with a brush, then gently pat any brush marks with a sponge. For a natural look, do this once. For higher coverage, repeat twice! If you want even more hydration, after applying sunscreen, spray on a mist toner and let it absorb before applying this product (use a non-sticky toner, not the typical mists sold in stores). - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 12, 2015
I have combination skin that's prone to dryness, and this works well for me in the dry autumn and winter seasons!! It has decent coverage and also helps conceal redness well haha It's a bit too moisturizing for me in spring and summer ㅠㅠ The oil content is too high and it gets shiny and breaks down messily... It also clogs the pores around my nose ㅠㅠ This product is great for combination skin in the autumn and winter when you want a more hydrating formula It seems like it would work well for dry skin types all year round
