I used this shade because it's perfect for fall and winter wear Unfortunately, it's a bit tricky to apply, and the color payoff and staying power seem to be on the weaker side - qu********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessOct 23, 2018
The color is beautiful. It's so unique. As someone who loves bold colors, I simply couldn't resist buying it. The staying power is terrible. It lasts about as long as a lip gloss. It's inconvenient to apply. The longevity is poor. It also accentuates dead skin cells. The only good thing is the color - everything else is a drawback. You need to keep checking in the mirror and reapplying. - vl**********Combination SkinAcne SkinMay 15, 2017
The color payoff is absolutely incredible! I purchased the lipstick version and found it so easy to apply. Creating a gradient effect was a breeze too! Given that it's originally meant to be applied with fingers or a brush, the quantity seems a bit small for the price. The staying power is somewhat lacking, and without a lip balm underneath, it felt a bit too matte for my liking. For Ameli products, gently blending with your fingers works better than using a sponge. It gives a more natural finish and brings out the beautiful color payoff! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 17, 2016
The color payoff is truly exceptional. I've never seen a burgundy lip product like this anywhere. It's impossible to find something similar. The enormous quantity is also a huge plus - I've been using the same tube for two years now. The reason I'm looking for alternatives is due to its poor staying power and how it emphasizes dead skin cells. It disappears as soon as I eat anything, and when I drink, it leaves marks all over the cup. It also accentuates flaky skin quite a bit, so I either exfoliate the night before or layer it over another lip product. I can count on one hand the times I've worn it alone. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 9, 2016
The color payoff is absolutely gorgeous! I was initially worried it might be too intense, but it blends in so naturally and beautifully. It's quite matte, so those with dry lips might need to apply a lip balm underneath. I found that using a brush to apply works better than using your fingers! The texture of the product seems to spread more evenly and thoroughly when applied with a brush. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinSep 3, 2015
Since my natural lip color is quite pale, just one application gives a beautiful color payoff. My lips are very sensitive, so I can't just carelessly apply any product, as it would cause my lips to swell, ooze, and hurt the next day. But that didn't happen with this product. The ingredients also seem quite good, so I'm considering this a holy grail item. The only downside is that the cap seems a bit weak or flimsy. It would be better if the cap was more sturdy. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMar 15, 2015
The color is quite pigmented even with just a small amount of application. The color payoff is beautiful. Perhaps it's because it's in a lip balm form, but I've been using it for quite a long time. The longevity is just so-so, and the moisturizing effect is not great, so I have to reapply the lip balm. - dm*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinJan 3, 2015
The best feature of Amélie Poulain's vampire-colored lipstick has to be the pigmentation, of course. It's truly a blood-like color. I don't think I've seen this kind of pigmentation in any other product! It's a deep, rich color. This unique shade caused a frenzy among female consumers. Other than the pigmentation, I'd say everything else is a downside... The longevity, the application, etc. It's inconvenient to apply, so I don't reach for it often. I've had it for years, and the amount hasn't gone down much at all. I remember it being so pigmented when I first bought it. Using a lip brush can make it easier to apply. Fingers are the best, but you have to clean them every time, which is inconvenient.
