I've used up one of these in Japan and another in Korea, so I'm reviewing these well-loved stubs. The application is smooth - it has less of that typical pencil-type smudging and spreading, which I love given its soft texture. There are a million shades of black out there, you know? This one is a sleek, sophisticated black - not quite as vibrant as a crayon, but still richly pigmented. Being a sharpener type means less air exposure, so it lasts longer. It glides on smoothly on both upper and lower lids, and you can even smudge it right away if you want. I've swatched it on my hand and immediately smudged it - check out the photo! It's resistant to smearing and holds up well under pressure.
ConsWhat's a pro can also be a con. With sharpener types, you get to sharpen it fresh each time, which means less exposure and it feels new every use. But you have to keep in mind that you're shaving away product each time you sharpen.
TipThere's a reason MAC has such devoted fans. You don't need to buy multiple colors - you can use this as a single shade, or if you want to switch it up, just layer some eyeshadow over the line. It's beautiful! If we're talking skincare equivalents, this feels like a highly concentrated formula, you know what I mean?
