I've used up one of these in Japan and another in Korea, so I'm reviewing these well-loved stubs. The application is smooth - it has less of that typical pencil-type smudging and spreading, which I love given its soft texture. There are a million shades of black out there, you know? This one is a sleek, sophisticated black - not quite as vibrant as a crayon, but still richly pigmented. Being a sharpener type means less air exposure, so it lasts longer. It glides on smoothly on both upper and lower lids, and you can even smudge it right away if you want. I've swatched it on my hand and immediately smudged it - check out the photo! It's resistant to smearing and holds up well under pressure.

There seems to be little to no smudging. It's soft and the shimmer is subtly natural. Some of the others I've tried have had a shimmer that was too strong and overwhelming. But this one has a fine particle shimmer(?) so it seems fine.
