Fragrance: Rose scents can vary widely in quality (from smelling like urine to luxurious rose), but this product falls on the high-end spectrum. Personally, I adore rose fragrances like Chloé and Lanvin, which focus purely on the rose scent with a subtle hint of fabric softener or soap. L'Occitane takes a slightly different approach. While they've captured the rose essence beautifully, there's also a hint of dried rose petal potpourri from childhood memories. This adds a touch of pure floral scent with a slight tartness that could easily become cheap and nauseating if not well-balanced, but L'Occitane nailed it. To me, it's a rich rose scent + a spoonful of nostalgic rose + a classic soapy undertone = L'Occitane's rose fragrance🌹. While scent preferences are subjective, I personally love it! *Note: The fragrance slightly differs between their rose hand cream and perfume, but I enjoy both*. Packaging & Design: Simple pink background with 'ROSE' on the front, product details on the back, and a matching dark pink cap. Accessibility: L'Occitane stores are widespread, and their products are easily available for gifting through platforms like KakaoTalk. It's so common as a gift that people joke about only using L'Occitane hand creams they've received as presents. Ingredients: Having tried various L'Occitane products, I didn't expect much from the ingredients. Those with super sensitive skin might find many of their products unsuitable. Effectiveness: For a hand cream, moisturizing should be the priority, but honestly, the hydration was disappointing. In winter it's dry, and in other seasons it feels greasy - leaving me confused whether it's a perfume or a hand cream. For a brand like L'Occitane, they could have easily balanced moisturizing power and texture. I've always wondered why they can't do better. Price: I prioritize products that fulfill their main purpose, and in that aspect, I don't think it's worth the price. It's already expensive, and despite its lackluster performance, people keep exchanging it as gifts due to brand recognition and popularity. Conclusion: While the fragrance is lovely, the lack of moisturizing power led me to abandon it after a few uses. I'd recommend it only if fragrance is your sole concern (but test it first). However, if you value moisturizing power and texture, I can't recommend it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinJul 5, 2020
The fragrance is lovely. It absorbs quickly and doesn't feel sticky. Rather than being an intense overnight moisturizer, it's perfect for frequent application during work hours. The downside would be the ingredients and price. I expected fragrance to be included, but the ingredient list is a bit concerning for frequent use. Once I finish this, I probably won't repurchase. - wi*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 1, 2020
The rose scent is so lovely, it's like wearing perfume with just this one product. It makes your whole body smell wonderful. Thanks to the shea butter, it absorbs quickly, leaving your skin feeling moisturized right away. Although the ingredients list isn't perfect, it works great for me even with my severe eczema, causing no issues at all. The large size means it'll last for ages! Unfortunately, the aluminum container tends to split at the sides after prolonged use, making it impossible to carry in your bag. - jj*****Normal SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 12, 2020
The L'Occitane Rose Hand Cream boasts a delightfully subtle rose fragrance. With its high shea butter content, it offers excellent hydration without feeling sticky, making it my go-to product for all seasons. The scent is far from cheap, which makes me reach for it often. I initially bought the 30ml size, but quickly upgraded to the 150ml version. Pros: 1. Subtle rose fragrance: It's not an overpowering or old-fashioned rose scent, but a gentle and soft one that keeps you coming back for more. Be warned, you might find yourself sniffing your hands frequently! 2. Superior hydration: With 20% shea butter, it's perfect for quickly moisturizing very dry skin. 3. Fresh finish: The non-sticky, velvety soft finish is incredibly appealing. It's suitable for use year-round, whether it's winter, spring, summer, or fall. (I even apply it generously in summer) Cons: Packaging There's not much to complain about, but the paper band around the product tends to peel off with use. It's not a big issue for me since I mostly use it at the office, but it could be inconvenient for those who carry it in their bags. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedApr 14, 2020
The scent is like receiving a real bouquet of roses, not an overpowering air freshener smell. While the moisturizing power isn't as intense as products with 'dry' in the name, it's still quite potent. If I had to find a flaw, unscrewing the cap can be a bit tedious, but the fragrance makes up for it completely. You can try various sets: a trio of hand creams with different scents to use together, or sets that include lip balm. There are many options to explore and enjoy. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedFeb 13, 2020
The scent is pleasant. I personally prefer unscented products, so that's just my taste. Compared to others, it's incredibly hydrating, though the effect doesn't last too long. It feels a bit drying. Highly recommended for those who enjoy fragranced products. - ne*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 2, 2019
The fragrance is lovely. It's wonderfully moisturizing. I have extremely dry skin, but after using it for a few days, my skin's dryness has significantly improved. Unfortunately, the ingredients aren't great. There's also a drawback - the container tends to tear when it's about half empty. - ts*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJul 12, 2019
As someone who loves the scent of roses, I find it delightful to apply this hand cream regularly when my perfume starts to fade. It gives me a lovely fragrant boost that lifts my mood. The cream absorbs well and doesn't feel sticky, making it a pleasure to use. I'm such a fan of L'Occitane hand creams that it's hard to find any faults with this one! For quick absorption, it's best to apply small amounts multiple times rather than one large application. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedFeb 21, 2019
Rose-scented hand cream Purchased a large size at duty-free The fragrance is lovely It's quite rich in oils Feels sticky. Doesn't have a fresh finish - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 8, 2019
This is my beloved hand cream. It provides long-lasting hydration and has a pleasant, subtle scent. I always keep it in my bag wherever I go. The cap can be a bit tricky to close. It's a bit frustrating when you're in a hurry. Apply it after washing your hands for long-lasting moisture.
