It's designed to be applied as the final step in your basic skincare routine. When you apply it, your complexion improves by one shade, though after a short while it can feel a bit rich. It's slightly moisturizing, but it finishes with a matte texture which may emphasize pores a little.

  I used this a few times before, but I'm not using it now. After reading other reviews, I'm scared to use it again because many people reported developing small blemishes and inflamed acne after using this product. I'm not sure why this happens, especially since it only has one cautionary ingredient. I've been going to the dermatologist for the past three weeks because of small blemishes, so I'm worried about making my skin worse if I use this again.

  A little goes a long way! It applies smoothly and noticeably brightens your complexion!

  Cons

  If you have dry skin, this might be challenging to use on its own. The texture isn't very hydrating, so you'll probably want to use a moisturizer separately. Despite not being cheap, it doesn't live up to its price tag. Just an average product, unfortunately.

  Tip

  Apply sparingly. If you use too much, it can leave a white cast. I use about half the amount of my usual moisturizer (and sometimes even that feels like too much). If you're layering products, make sure this is fully absorbed before applying anything else. The texture doesn't spread easily, so instead of trying to apply it all at once, dot it around your face and then blend.

  I started using this because my aunt gifted it to me. I'm now on my second bottle. My skin doesn't get blemishes no matter what I slather on it, so I apply this generously even before bed. I usually use shade 21, but last year I got so tanned that I became as dark as shade 23, so that's when I started using this. With consistent use, my complexion has brightened significantly. There's an immediate whitening effect, but what I really love is how it evens my skin tone overall. I'm thinking of applying it all over my body next!
