...covers well covers well covers well covers well covers we It pills, looks patchy, dries out my skin, and even when I mix in a drop of oil, it still looks cakey and feels rough. It's just not compatible with my skin at all Toss it - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinJun 17, 2016
Initially, I bought it because the case was pretty, but I was pleasantly surprised by its good coverage and how moisturizing it was. The mesh allowed for some control over the amount, but it was a bit inconvenient. While it might be fine in winter, during summer my hair kept sticking to it. Apart from these issues, everything else was great! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 2, 2016
The good points...? It matches my skin tone well... That's about it. Honestly, I'm just glad I bought it on sale. Otherwise, I would've spent $40 on pretty garbage. Oh, one more good thing - the case is cute. And it made me appreciate my usual BB cream even more! I want to rant, but I'll keep it brief: 1. Extreme pilling Whether I'm touching up or applying fresh makeup in the morning, it just pills. Like. Crazy. Adherence? Absolutely zero. 2. Blemishes start appearing I've never had skin issues from changing products before. My skin usually tolerates anything. Even dermatologists have told me I'm blessed with skin that's not easily affected by UV or cosmetics. But Verite? This pretty garbage? I was seduced by the pink packaging, but hey, 'Magic Essence'? The only magic it showed was conjuring tiny bumps on my steel-like face. 3. Coverage approaches zero It's just... like... a base... Only evens skin tone... Concealing? Nonexistent... 4. Ridiculously overpriced I can't believe this pretty garbage costs $40 including refill. While I got it cheaper during a Watson's sale, it's still the first time I've felt like I've wasted money on actual trash! The essence blended evenly with the foundation, creating a beautiful pattern, and the color matched my skin perfectly. It applies thinly and looks incredibly natural right after application. While the color suits me, the coverage and especially the longevity are really poor. It even pilled on my skin. Being a solid foundation, it doesn't transfer well to the cushion, and the foundation gets stuck in the mesh, leaving residue around the case. I think it's not worth the 40,000 won price tag. I have no intention of repurchasing. Although it's marketed as a hydrating product, some people like me might experience pilling, so make sure to apply a solid base. Apply it thinly in multiple layers. I found the coverage too sheer, so I ended up using concealer as well. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 10, 2016
The yellowish tint provides decent color payoff. Initially, it offers good coverage and applies smoothly. As someone with dry skin, I found the hydration level quite satisfactory and felt it was gentle on my skin. Plus, it didn't cause any blemishes, so I think it's worth using. There are quite a few less-than-ideal ingredients in this product. Also, its staying power for coverage is on the weaker side. As for the skin finish, it's yellowish, just like many other reviews mentioned! However, it suits me well enough, so I'm still using it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinApr 14, 2016
The adherence is pretty good and the coverage is decent. It's nicely moisturizing! It seems to accentuate dead skin cells a bit, and it tends to settle into the creases around the nose. It might work better if used with facial oil and proper application technique, or if you have really good skin to begin with. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 11, 2016
Great for dry weather and gives a subtle glow. I'd recommend this more for dry skin types rather than oily skin. There's a bit of caking, and the included puff isn't great... If you don't pat it in enough, it can look patchy. I'd suggest using a brush instead of the included puff, then pressing it in with a sponge for better adherence. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 24, 2016
It applies smoothly with a hydrating feel. Even though it's shade 21, it blends naturally without looking like a floating mask on those with slightly darker skin. The coverage is enough to conceal small blemishes, redness, lip color, and freckles. There's hardly any darkening, and among moisturizing products, it offers relatively high coverage. It didn't suit my super sensitive skin, causing blemishes. I was unsure whether to pat or spread the product with the puff. The mesh inside got dented, making storage messy and somewhat inconvenient. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopic SkinDec 27, 2015
The coverage is great. It applies smoothly and naturally without looking cakey on the skin. The puff is so good that I finally understand what people mean by a 'perfect fit' compact. At first, I wasn't impressed, but it grew on me as I used it. I think it's because the puff has adapted to my skin. Plus, the price is really affordable! Although it's called an essence foundation, the essence content isn't actually that high. And I definitely don't recommend it for touch-ups. If you're not careful, it can cling to the skin in patches. Make sure to pat, pat, pat it in vigorously. The more you pat, the better it adheres. If you try to spread it by rubbing, it'll just clump up. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 10, 2015
I bought this in January after seeing it on a home shopping channel. Initially, I was hesitant to use it because the sample came with separate foundation and essence, which felt quite thick. However, after finishing my IOPE cushion, I started using this in September, and I love it! With the IOPE cushion, it looked good at first, but by afternoon, my pores would get clogged, especially on my nose and cheeks. My main criteria for choosing a foundation became finding one that doesn't clog pores, and this one has never done that, not even once! It also wears beautifully over time - I actually prefer how it looks after a while rather than right after application. It does have a slightly 'made-up' appearance, but I don't use the included puff. Instead, I apply it with a brush and then blend with a beauty blender. This method prevents it from going on too thick, helps it adhere well, and gives a natural finish. The disappointing aspect is that the coverage is just average. It's not bad, but it's not as good as they claimed on the home shopping channel. I also bought it because Verite cushions are known for good coverage, but it doesn't really conceal dark circles or blemish scars well. To be fair, this is true for many other products too, but I think the claim of 'excellent coverage' is a bit of an exaggeration. Also, there's a mesh-like filter for controlling the amount of product, which is convenient, but it makes it difficult to tell how much is left in the container. That's a bit inconvenient.
