Instant cooling effect + less clogged pores when used! It also absorbs well into the skin The price... It's hard to justify spending my own money on it... Plus, the results aren't dramatic - 38*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 28, 2023
This is a famous MAC emulsion product with a light pink hue, containing their renowned mineral pearls (when I think of MAC, mineral pearls come to mind first). It's great for use in all seasons. The pump bottle design makes it convenient to apply. In summer, I've occasionally used it alone without an emulsion underneath. However, during winter, there were times when I felt it lacked sufficient hydration. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedOct 7, 2022
I used this product as a hydrating primer. It made my skin look smooth with its moisturizing effect. The application is great, and it's perfect to use before makeup. The cooling effect is ideal for reducing skin heat. The texture feels more like an emulsion, so it seems to run out quickly. - ma*********Combination SkinNov 2, 2021
The cream applies smoothly and feels moisturizing right after application. It's only hydrating immediately after use, but becomes dry as time passes. - ei*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 23, 2021
It instantly moisturizes upon application. Being a cream type, it spreads nicely on the face and absorbs well. I bought this because of the sales associate's persuasive skills. When they did a makeup test at the department store, my pores looked tiny and my skin seemed super hydrated. However, when I use it at home, my skin quickly becomes dry and there's zero effect on pores. I'm already looking for another product. Also, the pink pearl residue makes my face look even redder. It's moisturizing if you apply it after a thorough skincare routine. This works best for those who don't have significant pore issues. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedApr 21, 2021
Maybe it's because I'm a MAC devotee, but this product is my absolute go-to. It fills in uneven texture and pores like a dream, making it a total must-have in my routine. The price... oh, the price!!! At nearly $60, it's quite a splurge and can be a bit hard on the wallet... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 20, 2020
First off, I love the pink hue. While it doesn't actually do much for color, it does a great job controlling excess oil. It's a bit drying and rather ordinary. There's some shimmer in it, which I think would've been better left out. The texture doesn't quite mesh with the shimmer. - no********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 20, 2020
Final rating: 2 points. The nose area is particularly prone to extreme dryness. It controls oil well, but the dry patches with shimmer are somewhat bothersome. Skin type: Large pores in the T-zone with acne. Lots of blackheads on the nose. Extremely oily skin that causes makeup to break down quickly, requiring frequent blotting. [Primers I own] MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance: Applies like a moisturizer. Skin feels firm after application and it controls oil well. Occasionally causes cracking in the nose area, like drought-like dryness. Benefit POREfessional Hydrating: Thick silicone texture. Less drying. Laura Mercier Original Primer: Feels like a hydrating moisturizer. MAC Strobe Cream Pink While foundations clearly fall into 'trash' or 'holy grail' categories, each primer has its own merits. [If you have dry skin] Better not to buy it. I'd recommend the Laura Mercier primer instead. Prep + Prime Radiance is matte. It applies similarly to the Laura primer, but doesn't feel moisturizing after application, though it's not 100% drying either. [Pore coverage] Quite good. I might have noticed a significant effect because my pores are very large (sigh), but it makes cheeks look smooth. [Its best feature] Oil control - wearing this drastically reduces the number of blotting papers needed until the end of the workday. Surprisingly better than Benefit in this aspect. [Application] Applies well. If you have dry skin, it might make your nose look parched, so don't buy it... [For acne-prone skin] Doesn't cause breakouts. For those who don't double cleanse, primers can cause acne. Make sure to double cleanse thoroughly! Apart from making skin quite dry...! I want to buy it for its oil control, but it causes extreme dryness on the nose area. Might try it again in midsummer before deciding whether to purchase or not. After diligently applying skincare for a plump base, using MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance, and lightly applying Estée Lauder Futurist foundation, this morning my skin truly had a clean, radiant glow. I was pleased to maintain a fresh look into the afternoon with just one blotting paper. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 13, 2020
The best thing was how it performed without any major flaws! It felt like it simply focused on being a natural, effective primer. The value for money isn't great... When using it, I didn't get that 'Ah, it was worth spending the (supposedly) high price' feeling. - am******Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 22, 2020
It's great that this primer feels light like a makeup base, not thick or heavy. The difference between wearing it and not is surprisingly noticeable! It's expensive... and on days when my pores are really noticeable, this alone isn't enough to cover them. I wish it doubled as sunscreen, but since it doesn't, I have to apply two separate layers. After applying, give it some time to absorb by gently patting it into your skin before putting on foundation. This really helps with pore coverage and improves both the overall complexion and staying power of your makeup!
