The ingredients aren't great, but strangely, Shu Uemura was the only one that didn't cause any breakouts. Other 'good' regenerating BB creams would cause breakouts within two days. It was a situation where I couldn't even switch products. These days, they say foundation is much lighter than BB cream, so I've been trying silicone-free foundations, and I accidentally stumbled upon the Kogendo Moisture Foundation. The moment I started using it, I knew this would be my holy grail for years to come. No breakouts at all. The application feels really light and comfortable. My skin has a lot of reddish marks due to folliculitis and acne, but the light, hydrating feel was more important than coverage, so I'm really, really satisfied. When I have appointments, I just use a concealer to cover the problem areas. For daily use, this is perfect as a BB cream replacement.
ConsThe volume is too small, boo hoo But I think it will last a long time. I have somewhat enlarged pores, so I mix a few drops of oil into my lotion before applying. It's a Japanese product, so that's the only downside, but the product quality is still great.
TipI really prefer applying makeup with my hands, so the Kogendo Moisture Foundation, like a BB cream, applies seamlessly with my fingers. Having a solid skincare routine is the foundation of all makeup, and if I do that well, I don't feel any dryness throughout the day at the office. In contrast, the Shu Uemura one made me feel dry after application, but this one doesn't have that issue, which is great. The skin without any breakouts looks like honey skin. For people with good skin, just a simple tapping motion with their fingers could finish their makeup. I'm grateful that I can even use foundation. I'm so thankful that the Kogendo Moisture Foundation has maintained its formula for over 25 years.

However, those who prioritize coverage would likely need to use a concealer as well.
ConsThe coverage is not great, so the need to use a concealer could be considered a downside....

Even when applied over blemishes, it did not worsen them. Minimal accentuation of flaky skin, and moderately moisturizing. It's really hard to find silicone-free products, but this one is good enough..
ConsHmm...too expensive... If it were in the 30,000 won range, it would be perfect.

I switched from the Maepo Face and Body product because I was having skin issues, but this one doesn't cause any trouble and the ingredients are good too. This is a must-have item to stock up on at the duty-free shop :)
ConsThe coverage is lacking. When I apply it, it seems okay for a bit, but then I end up looking almost bare-faced... I put a lot of effort into my makeup before going to the department store, and when I went to the MAC counter, the MAC sales associate said, 'Ma'am, your makeup has worn off quite a bit, let me touch it up for you.' But since I have combination-dry skin, I'd rather sacrifice the coverage than deal with dryness, flakiness, and cakiness!!(tears) Maybe if I lightly dust on some translucent powder on top, it might last a bit longer...?
TipWhen I'm in a hurry, I just dab it on with a puff, but I find that applying it with a brush works better - you can use less product and it gives a more radiant finish!
