It's affordable and looked like it would be moisturizing, but... Those with sensitive skin should probably avoid this. After just one use, both my cheeks turned into volcanic ash...

While it's not as hydrating as a moisturizer on its own, when you layer this essence under your regular moisturizer, your skin stays hydrated for much longer! The quantity seems a bit on the smaller side... It's been a while since I've seen an essence this size, especially considering it's neither an ampoule nor a serum. Light and refreshing. Absorbs instantly upon application. No greasy residue on the skin, and you can feel the hydration boost immediately. There's absolutely no sticky feeling, just a fresh sensation. The 'Aqua' line name perfectly captures its invigorating quality. Is it just me? As quickly as it absorbs, the effects seem to fade just as fast. It feels moisturizing right after application, but shortly after, my skin feels dry again. The oil and moisture balance is fantastic, and it absorbs so well into the skin. While the emulsion from the same line is a bit rich, this essence is absolutely wonderful. The fragrance is lovely too. While the puff applicator allows for hygienic use, a significant amount of product gets left behind and doesn't come out completely. Also, the bottle is quite heavy.

When applied right before my base makeup, it makes everything stick perfectly. It absorbs just the right amount while leaving a nice layer on the skin, giving a deeply hydrated and non-dry feeling that's simply amazing. Plus, it's so gentle that even with my super sensitive skin, I've been able to use it consistently without any issues! If I had to pick something, maybe the quantity? I usually buy this during sales and frequently use it along with a moisturizer. I'm a fan because it provides just the right amount of hydration without any particular downsides. I'm not sure if there's anything disappointing about it yet... Among the set, I found the essence to be the best - it's wonderfully lightweight. Overall, it's decent. I guess the Aqua Max line just isn't my cup of tea.
