That's exactly why I bought this curl cream right after getting my perm and washing my hair. While the product on Hwahae is discontinued, I purchased the most recent one advertised - Disciplin Oleo Curl. Check out the photos I've uploaded for reference! I was worried the cream might make my hair greasy, but not at all! It even protects the hair, they say. The Disciplin line claims to maintain curl shape by focusing on the curl's core or something... just try it and you'll get it! Trust me, it's worth every penny. I've uploaded some photos: 1. Disciplin Curl Cream 2. 3 days post-perm before discovering Oleo Curl Cream (lol) 3. 2 weeks post-perm after using Oleo Curl Cream (note: this photo was taken at home after a full day - that's proof of its lasting power!) 4. Everyday curl status while using the curl cream 5. My daily life after discovering this curl cream (haha) I love it, love it! The bouncy curls might even be better than right after the perm - or is that just my imagination? It's like a magical product that creates curls where there were none before!
ConsI don't think it's overpriced for its effectiveness (though I might regret saying that later). The scent isn't particularly light, so it might be a love-it-or-hate-it situation for some people.
TipAfter towel-drying, apply about a coin-sized amount to your hair before it dries completely, scrunching as you go (based on shoulder-length hair). Be careful not to use too much, or your curls might droop. Then, gently dry your scalp area with a hairdryer, running your fingers through your hair. Aim for about 50% dry (avoiding the curly sections as much as possible). Do your makeup at this point. Then, add a tiny bit more curl cream to your hair, and finish drying the last 10% to set the style. The ends should still be slightly damp when you're done - they'll look prettier once they air dry completely. Always let at least some of your perm air dry naturally... or use a fan if you prefer!
