The emulsion formula adheres well to hair, and it effectively holds curls without overwhelming scent or texture. The price... This photo is of the mini product I received with my purchase. It absorbs like an essence but doesn't improve hair texture, focusing solely on curl definition. Given its high price, I wish it could also enhance overall hair quality. Apply for defined curls before hair dries, or for natural waves after hair is dry. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinApr 11, 2017
Ever notice how your hair looks fabulous right after a perm, but gets all frizzy and poofy once you wash it? That's exactly why I bought this curl cream right after getting my perm and washing my hair. While the product on Hwahae is discontinued, I purchased the most recent one advertised - Disciplin Oleo Curl. Check out the photos I've uploaded for reference! I was worried the cream might make my hair greasy, but not at all! It even protects the hair, they say. The Disciplin line claims to maintain curl shape by focusing on the curl's core or something... just try it and you'll get it! Trust me, it's worth every penny. I've uploaded some photos: 1. Disciplin Curl Cream 2. 3 days post-perm before discovering Oleo Curl Cream (lol) 3. 2 weeks post-perm after using Oleo Curl Cream (note: this photo was taken at home after a full day - that's proof of its lasting power!) 4. Everyday curl status while using the curl cream 5. My daily life after discovering this curl cream (haha) I love it, love it! The bouncy curls might even be better than right after the perm - or is that just my imagination? It's like a magical product that creates curls where there were none before! I don't think it's overpriced for its effectiveness (though I might regret saying that later). The scent isn't particularly light, so it might be a love-it-or-hate-it situation for some people. After towel-drying, apply about a coin-sized amount to your hair before it dries completely, scrunching as you go (based on shoulder-length hair). Be careful not to use too much, or your curls might droop. Then, gently dry your scalp area with a hairdryer, running your fingers through your hair. Aim for about 50% dry (avoiding the curly sections as much as possible). Do your makeup at this point. Then, add a tiny bit more curl cream to your hair, and finish drying the last 10% to set the style. The ends should still be slightly damp when you're done - they'll look prettier once they air dry completely. Always let at least some of your perm air dry naturally... or use a fan if you prefer! - cu********Dry SkinSensitive SkinJan 29, 2017
I used this product after getting a perm. It keeps curls bouncy and the texture is delightfully rich. I also found the scent quite pleasant. Even after trimming once it's dry, within 3-4 hours my hair is completely parched, with no trace of the essence left, and my curls gradually become frizzy and unruly. It's important to use the right amount. Applying too much can make your curls lose their shape. For best results, carry it with you and reapply to your curls every 3-4 hours to maintain their definition and bounce. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSep 9, 2016
There's no better product for creating natural-looking curls. The scent and texture are a bit disappointing. And it's quite pricey too... - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJul 27, 2016
I used this product before and after blow-drying my hair. The fragrance is subtle, and it really helps define my curls without weighing them down. I love how it keeps my hair from falling flat! Be careful not to use too much product, as it can make your hair feel heavy. A little goes a long way! For those with oily scalps or those who frequently use heat styling tools, I highly recommend Kerastase Control Care instead, as this is primarily a curl-defining cream. Kerastase offers many products that care for both the scalp and hair, so it's worth exploring their range to find the best option for your needs. - le******Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsJun 13, 2016
After getting a perm, my hair was so frizzy it looked like a rice ball. The salon recommended this product, and there's a noticeable difference in my curls when I use it. It feels like it's reviving my perm. They say it also protects the hair, so when I apply it and blow-dry, my curls look beautiful. I liked the scent too. A few days later, when I went back to the salon, the stylist asked what essence I was using. When I told them about this one, they praised my choice! It might just be my imagination, but it makes my face itchy when it touches my skin. Being an imported product, it's quite expensive. You can buy it cheaper if you order directly from overseas. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMar 18, 2016
When applied before blow-drying, you can feel it protecting your hair from damage. It also tames frizzy hair, making it smoother. I'm already on my third bottle! Personally, I really dislike the scent. It smells like chemicals... It seems to overpower and eliminate any pleasant fragrance from your shampoo. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 21, 2016
Even with frizzy hair, it gives incredible shine to curls and the fragrance is as amazing as any perfume. Looking at the ingredients here, I'm feeling discouraged... What's the point of using even the best shampoo when... Apply it lightly to damp hair and set it with a bit of heat from the hairdryer - it works so well! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 28, 2015
After towel-drying, if you apply this along with your essence while your hair still has some moisture, your curls will last all day as if you just stepped out of a salon. The difference in curl definition between using this and not using it is like night and day. While Kérastase always comes with a hefty price tag, which is a bit of a drawback, its effectiveness is absolutely top-notch.
