I have problematic skin with redness, oily tendencies, large pores, and frequent blemishes and dead skin cells, especially during that time of the month. I tried Ivory Pure as recommended, and although it felt a bit strange at first, it matched my neck color well, giving me a natural overall complexion. The foundation absorbs smoothly and feels nice on the skin. I don't usually touch up my makeup, but without a mask, it lasts about 3 hours without needing any adjustments. Being oily-skinned, I do get shiny after a while, but if I use an oil-control mask before applying makeup, it doesn't slide off - just gives a dewy glow. The glass bottle is heavy, but that's actually a plus point in my book. Over time, it can darken and if you don't control oil before application, it can slide off, clumping in pores or on dead skin cells, making a mess. It tends to emphasize sebum around the nose area. The staying power isn't great. It lasts a bit longer if you control oil before application, but I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin. Naturally, your skin needs to be in good condition for the makeup to apply well and look clean, as it's quite a sheer formula. It transfers onto masks easily, so frequent touch-ups are necessary. The bottle opening can get messy easily, so make sure to wipe it clean after each use to keep the cap clean too. If you have oily skin, it's crucial to control oil before applying this foundation. - ji*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 28, 2021
As someone with dry skin who prefers a natural look over very bright makeup, I'm a shade 19 and I've gone through two bottles of the Ivory Pure Color! Personally, I think this product really shines in winter. The color is beautiful, and if you set it with powder, the staying power is quite good. It's perfect as an entry-level product before diving into department store brands! The price is a bit on the higher side, and the fact that it's been discontinued... I wonder why they discontinued it? - yo******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsAug 21, 2020
A moisturizing foundation that doesn't cake or separate on the skin After buying and trying it a few times, I don't reach for it anymore. The staying power is practically non-existent - ch****Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJul 24, 2020
I love how moisturizing this foundation is! With so many matte foundations out there, this is the perfect one for mixing. The shade is just right for me too. I've been using it for nearly a year, and it's fantastic for my dry skin. When I blend it with Etude House Double Lasting Foundation, it boosts coverage and stays put all day without separating. It also mixes well with Chobe Yang. That's why I deliberately chose a lighter shade with yellow undertones for easy blending. I prefer the yellow undertone over pink, as it matches my neck better without looking too ashy. Definitely a 100% repurchase for me! In the photos, the top swatch is Espoir Ivory Pure, and the bottom is VDL Perfecting Lasting Foundation A02. I adjusted the lighting to show how similar they are. While my skin tone has changed, the foundation shades are almost identical. The third photo is unedited for comparison. The coverage might be a bit light on its own, so I rarely use it alone. Make sure to choose the right shade for best results. It's fantastic for mixing with matte foundations! - tk*******Dry SkinAcne SkinMar 20, 2020
Well, I guess it was hydrating? That's about all I can say for sure... For me, the shade was way too dark and made me look sallow. It would probably suit warm-toned folks who use shade 23. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedDec 31, 2019
I loved how lightweight it felt, making it easy to wear without feeling heavy! The shade 21 matched my skin tone perfectly and left my complexion feeling hydrated. Without setting powder, it tends to break down quite a bit. It creases around the nose and settles into smile lines, unfortunately. A damp beauty sponge gives a much prettier skin finish than a brush! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 24, 2019
I loved how moisturizing it felt when applied. It's great at covering my redness, giving me a bright and radiant complexion. It's so hydrating that my hair keeps sticking to my face, which is uncomfortable unless I use powder. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 10, 2019
The coverage isn't bad, though it doesn't completely conceal acne scars. The adherence to the skin is quite good, and it applies smoothly. After some time, there's slight emphasis on dead skin cells (not severe), and when the makeup breaks down, it doesn't do so gracefully. There's a bit of oiliness, but overall it's decent. It's better to start with less product and add more if needed, rather than applying too much at once. Among drugstore brand products, this is above average! A solid, reliable product. Works great when used with Real Techniques' Miracle Sponge. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedMay 13, 2019
The adherence was great, and it made my complexion look radiant and beautiful. Everything was good, but if I had to pick one drawback, it's that it feels a bit dry after some time... - oh******Dry SkinRecommendedApr 19, 2019
