Why on earth did they discontinue this? Honestly, it's the cream of the crop among powder foundations. I used it all the time in my early 20s - the coverage is truly excellent, and despite being a powder, it doesn't dry out your skin or cause pilling. It's lightweight and just fantastic overall. What's especially remarkable is how it performed during my Southeast Asian travels. Even when I was drenched in sweat, this was the only product that kept my complexion looking alive, much to everyone's amazement. It's becoming difficult to purchase. I also wish they'd come out with some lighter shades. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 1, 2020
It's matte but still has a nice glow. The staying power is good and the coverage is pretty decent too. While it has good staying power for summer use, some people might find it a bit drying in winter. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJan 13, 2020
It's a powder, but it's just the right amount of moisturizing. There's hardly any dryness at all! The puff gets dirty quickly, so you need to replace it often. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedDec 28, 2018
I've tried Chanel, Lancôme, and Double Wear, but this one suits my skin the best. It doesn't scream 'I'm covering up bad skin with foundation!' Instead, it provides even, natural-looking coverage. It's my holy grail. It's a bit too drying for winter use, so I'm now buying the liquid version of this product. - sh******Combination SkinSensitive SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJul 28, 2018
-Pore blurring effect -High coverage -Matte finish without looking dry on dry skin -The color may slightly darken the complexion (individual variation) -Uneven texture may be more visible depending on skin condition -Not a natural-looking thickness. It's makeup! -Recommended for those who need more coverage rather than a natural look -Recommended for dry skin types who want a matte finish -Not recommended for those with a lot of fine lines and uneven texture - bl******Combination SkinSensitive SkinFeb 26, 2018
The coverage and adherence are so good, and the matte finish is something I really like. It covers blemishes and acne scars well too~ However, even with proper moisturizing and oil care in the winter, my face quickly becomes dry due to the cold air, so I have to frequently mist it. Otherwise, it gets too dry and tight. After using it for over 2 years, I found it works much better in the warm spring and hot summer. It barely needs any touch-ups! The texture feels just like a solid Shu Uemura Mousse product. It's a powder type but has a slightly moist feel, and you can really feel the good adherence when it's on your skin. I've been consistently using the OC 010 shade, and it gives a naturally radiant look. It's not too white, but has a healthy, bright white tone, so I think it would be a great color match for those of you using shade 21 who are looking for a nicely luminous shade. I recommend it! 😄 It's quite drying to use in the winter. It can be very drying for those with dry skin types~ If you apply it in a thin layer first, wait about 5 minutes, and then apply another thin layer, the coverage becomes really good and you can achieve a clean, flawless makeup look. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 19, 2018
For those with dry and sensitive skin. Covering dark circles and blemishes around the eyes can make the skin look too thick and dry. As someone who doesn't want to pay too much attention to makeup, the natural look of this product is perfect for me. Before repurchasing my usual Dior Snow and Dior cushion, I tried the Maquillage that was gifted to me from Japan. The formula is so smooth and creamy that even without touch-ups throughout the day, my skin tone remains even and clean, without looking cakey or messy. I highly recommend this to those in their 40s with dry skin. The price is probably outrageous, the scoundrel. In Japan, they don't prefer the glossy look that is popular in Korea. They prefer a more matte skin finish. The Shiseido foundation applies thinly and smoothly. If you use an oil-based skincare product as a base and then apply the foundation, it won't look shiny or greasy as the day goes on, but will have a nice, healthy glow. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 9, 2018
It really sticks to the skin like a soft and fluffy mochi. It's really great. Personally, I used it well even in the summer, and in the winter, I felt like it was slightly lacking in moisture (combination skin with lack of moisture). As expected of Japan, everything is purchased separately. Even the purchase of a single puff is expensive. It seems like I always buy a set during sales events in Japan. The brightness is also personally ambiguous. Most people recommend shade 10, but I think this is a rather dark tone. And it seems that during most promotions, it's almost always shade 10 rather than 00. The fact that the bottom of the case under the puff is completely open is also a bit unsettling. None. I just use the Maquillage + Mayu cream set together, and they match so well that I've been using them that way. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinJun 30, 2017
The #1 selling product in Japan is a sponge applicator. It applies the product very lightly, and the coverage is great. It's not at all dewy or shiny, so I'd recommend it for those who prefer a matte finish. The makeup looks cakey. When my skin is in good condition, the powder helps minimize the appearance of pores, but when my skin isn't great, it tends to emphasize flaws, so I have to remove my makeup and reapply. - wj********Normal SkinApr 21, 2017
It has topped the charts in Japan multiple times, and I was so curious about the great reviews that I decided to try it out. To my surprise, it's quite nice. It contains essence water ingredients, which is likely why it doesn't feel dry and instead has a moisturizing effect. Especially for those with dry skin like myself who want a smooth, matte skin finish, choosing the right product is really important (the wrong one can emphasize flakiness). This product doesn't cake up and blends on smoothly. Just a quick swipe with a puff and it applies so softly and evenly. It's amazing. Even when my skin condition is poor, it doesn't emphasize flakiness as much as other powders. It seems perfect for touch-ups. I would repurchase! I chose the #10 shade, and it's not as light as I expected, so the #00 shade might have worked just as well. The case design is too flashy and looks a bit tacky. I really wish the design was different. The shades tend to pull a bit darker. You'll need to choose carefully.
