I bought this hoping the 'matte' in the name meant it would control oil, but my skin gets just as oily. If you have very oily skin, it's best to use this just for added hydration rather than expecting it to mattify.

The formula has a nice hydrating feel and doesn't pill, so you can easily apply it before makeup without any fuss. I've found that mixing it with foundation works better for me than applying it separately - it gives a nice skin finish and adheres well.
