My sister brought back this 'Jun Ji-hyun oil' from Europe, and I don't know if it's just me, but the subtle fragrance is quite nice. I'm currently enjoying using it. My skin is dry and has become quite parched with age, so I've been consistently using oils. In winter, I mix it with cream as the final step, and in this weather, I warm it between my palms and pat it into my skin. It seems to make my base more hydrated, and my makeup appears to apply better as a result. First off, it's expensive. I received it as a gift and just used it, but after checking Hwahae, I'm a bit concerned about the number of potential allergens. Though my skin isn't particularly sensitive, it's still worrying. When applying a BB cream that isn't very hydrating, mixing in a couple of drops of this oil seems to help it spread more evenly. - 88******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 22, 2019
First off, I have mildly oily skin. My friend brought this back as a souvenir from her European trip. Reading the reviews, I noticed people are divided on the scent. My friend mentioned that while the fragrance is a bit peculiar, it's still usable. Personally, I didn't find it off-putting. It's not what you'd call a luxurious rose scent, but more of a natural, earthy rose aroma. Overall, I'm satisfied with how it feels! When my skin feels parched, I layer it like this: toner, essence or sheet mask, moisturizer, and then this oil. The next morning, my skin feels incredibly soft! I was a bit surprised to see six potential allergens listed in the ingredients, but fortunately, it works well for me. Oh, and for a light moisturizing effect, I love mixing a few drops into my cream! The packaging is a bit inconvenient. It feels like the oil tends to leak around the opening. For a beautiful glow, try mixing a small amount with your foundation. It's a trick I often used during particularly dry seasons! - ma********Dry SkinSensitive SkinDec 26, 2018
The photos show before and after use (allergic reaction). Overall impression: Don't forget to check Hwahae for gifted items, and avoid using products that trigger allergies. The positive aspect is that thanks to this product, I learned that I can have allergic reactions to cosmetics! Until now, I was lenient with ingredients marked as allergens if they weren't harmful... But from now on, I'll be more careful! A product I wish I could give zero stars to... This was my first such allergic reaction ever. My cousin brought it as a gift from Europe, and I applied it thinking it would be good, but it backfired. It's not even particularly moisturizing or fragrant... Why does it smell like olive oil when there's a rose drawn on the product? Fortunately, my skin didn't completely turn or develop blemishes, but I was shocked by the sudden red, blotchy allergic reaction. It did subside a bit after wiping it off. Seeing the high rating, I guess there are people who don't have allergic reactions. There are no bad ingredients besides the allergens, so those who aren't prone to allergies might be able to use it... There are so many potential allergens that I can't even pinpoint what caused such a reaction. I tried mixing it with a body emulsion and applying it to my body because I felt bad wasting it, but it caused the same reaction... Those with super sensitive skin should probably just throw it away. - no*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 23, 2018
I bought this cheaply during my trip to the Czech Republic - 3 for $50. Everyone says the scent is strange, but I find it quite alright. I can't say there's anything particularly special about it; it's similar to regular face oils. I plan to use it consistently. It comes in a plastic container. The scent is a bit disappointing. I've been using it for less than a week, so... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 21, 2018
First off, compared to other face oils, the quantity is quite generous, so it should last a long time. The hydration it provides is also excellent. The scent is a bit strong, and I think it would have been more convenient to use if it came with a dropper. I occasionally get blemishes, which makes me wonder if it might be clogging my pores, so I've been applying it sparingly. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedOct 22, 2018
As someone with dry skin, I've tried oils from various brands, but this one has the most suitable weight (I'm not a fan of overly light textures) and glow. When applied, it absorbs well, providing hydration without being excessively shiny or drying. I really appreciate that balance! There's not much to complain about! I don't think the price is too burdensome for the amount you get. When I visited Eastern Europe, I bought two bottles at an even more affordable price and used them very happily! Since I have extremely dry skin, I keep one bottle at the office and one at home. Whenever my skin feels dry, I take a tiny amount, warm it between my hands, and then gently pat it onto my face. On days when I'm wearing makeup, I apply it very lightly to avoid disturbing my makeup. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 19, 2018
This was a gift from a friend who brought it back from the Czech Republic. It's not too greasy, and I've tried mixing it with my essence when applying. It quickly calmed my skin during the seasonal changes. I can't think of any particular downsides, except perhaps the price is a bit on the higher side. It's great for massaging when you apply a generous amount of oil. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 25, 2018
As someone with combination skin prone to severe redness, I was initially terrified to use an oil. I applied it with shaky hands, worried about breakouts in my T-zone. But surprisingly, it made my skin even smoother! And the redness? It visibly reduced to an incredible degree! The rich texture keeps me using it consistently. While it's not super lightweight, gently pressing it on before makeup creates a perfect base. I use it in place of essence, and I love that it's a bit thicker. Highly recommend for dry and combination skin types, and it's an absolute must-try for those dealing with redness! I bought this at a department store after smelling it, but the strong fragrance sometimes makes me hesitate when applying. Fortunately, it fades after about 5 minutes, so I keep using it regularly. Interestingly, when I'm stressed, massaging my neck and shoulders with this oil actually calms me down because of the scent... Maybe that's just me though. When I'm feeling lazy, I just mix a drop or two into my emulsion! That's my favorite way to use it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 19, 2018
I bought this at a great price during my trip to the Czech Republic, and it came in handy just when I needed hydration. It works wonderfully when mixed with a moisturizer or applied alone before bed. The next morning, my skin feels so soft, supple, and deeply hydrated - I love it! The bottle opening is a bit inconvenient to use. You have to be careful as it might spill if not handled properly. The shape of the bottle opening could definitely be improved. It's fantastic when you mix a drop or two with your regular cream! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 7, 2018
There's absolutely no sticky feeling or residue left on the skin. You can actually feel it absorbing, which is really great. My skin looks more vibrant and my complexion improves too! Even my parched, cracked skin feels like its thirst has been quenched! The price point is reasonable, and since I'm seeing results, I'm 100% going to repurchase. A dropper format would be more convenient and cleaner to use. Apply the oil either right after cleansing while your skin is still damp, or after using toner when your skin is moist. It makes your skin feel incredibly hydrated!
