This foundation has been my loyal companion throughout my college years. It's the first time I've emptied more than 3 bottles of the same foundation, excluding cushion products. Compared to moisturizing foundations, it seems to clog my pores less, resulting in fewer blemishes, and it holds up well on my oily skin. Above all, it was excellent for creating a soft, matte complexion. As my skin became increasingly dry, I had to stop using this foundation. When applied, it started to emphasize dead skin cells, and even with a hydrating base, the foundation wouldn't adhere properly. The coverage wasn't particularly outstanding either, so I found myself back on the quest for the perfect foundation. When using mousse foundation, try to avoid using oil-based skincare products underneath. The mousse foundation tends to clump when mixed with excess oil. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinOct 30, 2017
I use this for pore coverage and light blemish concealing. I'm not one for full-face makeup often, more of a casual makeup user. As someone who doesn't use much foundation, I've been using this for quite a while now. The quantity is generous, and it's not bad at all. I've tried applying it with a wedge puff, brush, and beauty blender, but none worked well. So I just use my fingers to apply very small amounts multiple times. Absolutely don't apply too much! Just a tiny bit! My nose pores are quite large, so I use this to cover them. I like that it's lighter than concealer but works better than liquid foundation. I dab a tiny amount on my fingertip, about as much as I'd use for cream blush, and gently press it into my pores with circular motions. This can make you think, 'Were my pores always this small?' Apply with moderate pressure to avoid leaving white residue in the pores. If you press too hard, it might just end up sitting inside the pores. It covers old acne scars the best! - I'm not sure about its staying power. I don't notice much dead skin cell emphasis, but as my skin gets oily, it seems to absorb the foundation, making it disappear (though it seems to hold up well without touch-ups). - The foundation color doesn't match me well. I think there might be some darkening? - For me, the quantity is too much - a bit of a downside. I don't think I'll be able to use it all before it expires. - Oh! The container is too heavy to carry around! This is a real drawback! But when I try to put a small amount in a portable container, it seems to dry out. If you use a more hydrating sunscreen, it absorbs well and creates a good base. Use a sunscreen that's good for layering. I'm currently using Dr. Jart+. Applying with fingers works best. When covering nose pores, you really need to apply a tiny amount. Start with an extremely small amount, and if it's not enough, add another tiny bit. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 18, 2017
I bought this product for the first time at Watsons. It has an intriguing texture that absorbs well... This product has a slightly powdery feel, which might not be ideal for winter use (even for combination skin) - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 27, 2017
I bought this product because I have blemishes and redness, and cushions alone don't cover well. I think I got it at a good price on social media. I found the coverage to be great. Even though it's matte, it's not too matte, so there was no emphasizing of dead skin cells or cracking. When I apply this and then a thin layer of cushion, my skin looks naturally flawless! Oil control is good too, so I only need to touch up once or twice very late in the day. I love how this makes my skin look good. It provides thin but effective coverage at a reasonable price. I'll definitely repurchase. The glass packaging makes it really inconvenient to carry around. Being a foreign product, I also messed up choosing the right shade. I usually use shade 21, but this one is a shade darker, so it makes me look a bit tanned. If I don't apply cushion over it, it's not quite right. Still, I'm satisfied because it makes my skin look good. Next time, I'll have to be more careful with shade selection. It applies more evenly with a sponge than with a brush. The coverage is good even with a small amount, so apply a thin layer and then add more to areas that need extra coverage. - su*********Combination SkinAcne SkinOct 8, 2016
I switched from the pre-renewal product, and it's definitely less matte, making it great for fall and winter. I have oily skin and usually prefer very matte foundations, but the previous version would make my face crack when the weather got a bit dry. This one is more hydrating - even my friend with dry skin says it's usable except in the dead of winter. While it's more hydrating, it's lost a lot in other areas. First off, the staying power and coverage have really decreased. The original Catrice Matt Mousse was unbeatable in terms of longevity and coverage, but since the renewal, it's only slightly better than a cushion foundation. So I won't be repurchasing. Also, the color coding isn't the system commonly used in Korea, which makes choosing the right shade inconvenient.
