After using it for about 2 weeks, I'm updating my review. I've been using this during the summer months of May and June. It has a slightly rich, creamy texture, but the absorption is just right for dry skin without feeling too heavy. Those with oily skin might find it a bit rich though. The brightening effect was noticeable right away, with a subtle glow. I used this on weekdays and a different product without whitening and anti-aging ingredients on weekends. My complexion looked noticeably brighter and more radiant when I switched back to this on weekdays. The anti-aging ingredients seem to give my skin a slight firmness too. If you don't have extremely dry skin, this alone is enough for summer nights. It doesn't pill when layered. Given the affordable price, I'd like to repurchase it. It contains pore-clogging ingredients, so those with oily skin might want to avoid it. There are some oil components that caused slight irritation for me, so I'm deducting one star. Even though I have dry skin with some oily tendencies, I experienced some blemishes. The hydration isn't quite enough to keep skin moisturized until morning. It's probably only suitable for summer. While it's a decent product for the price, one application isn't enough to prevent dryness. This alone won't be sufficient for fall, winter, or spring. After trying it out, I noticed the brightening effect is most visible when applied directly to clean skin, without any other products underneath. It's best used at night. To maintain hydration for longer, you need to layer it. Since it's a bit lacking in moisture, it might work well in combination with other hydrating products. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinNov 12, 2019
Although it's a cream, it applies lightly and was incredibly effective for brightening. I remember getting positive reactions when I recommended it to others. If this were before the renewal, I might have complained about the packaging, but they've changed that too. Personally, I couldn't find any drawbacks. Even if there were any, I think they'd be understandable given the affordable price. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 10, 2019
As a skincare nomad, I usually only apply toner and cream. I was honestly looking for a cream to use in the morning after my evening hydrating mask. I chose this because it's gentle and affordable. My complexion has definitely brightened! It's moisturizing deep down. I'm 200% sure I'll repurchase. I actually found the plastic tube packaging convenient and nice. Not sure why that would be a negative? My routine: toner, sea buckthorn, Bad Skin hydrating mask. It feels like it's filling up even my pores. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 25, 2018
I absolutely love the fresh, invigorating scent. I initially bought it for brightening, but surprisingly, it has an amazing calming effect on my skin as well. I wish it came in a simple squeeze tube. It becomes quite inconvenient to use when you're nearing the end of the product. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 8, 2018
It's truly gentle, absorbs beautifully, and has a lovely scent. I think with consistent use, you'll really see the brightening effects kick in. I'm honestly committed to repurchasing this for life! The hydration is slightly lacking. It feels a bit too light? As for blemishes, my skin, which usually reacts with contact dermatitis to everything, doesn't show any particular issues with this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 2, 2018
If you apply this with the right amount, it really helps calm blemishes and even has a slight brightening effect! As someone with oily skin prone to breakouts, I usually only use soothing gels or toners. While this product might feel a bit rich, if you make sure it absorbs well, it's absolutely amazing! I can't imagine my routine without this cream now! No exaggeration, I've repurchased this countless times. I hope the Sea Buckthorn Cream never disappears! I also have combination dehydrated skin, so I was worried it might be too heavy at first. But if you pat in the right amount to help it absorb, there's nothing to complain about with this product! Keep patting it in! Imagine all those beneficial ingredients sinking into your skin with each gentle tap. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinFeb 18, 2018
1. Absorbs without stickiness, leaving a fresh feel. 2. Has a brightening effect. 3. Absorbs well into the skin. 4. Has a refreshing scent (though it might be divisive, I personally enjoy it). 5. Gentle on the skin. 6. Improves skin texture. 7. Much less oily compared to Madecassoside creams. 8. Comes in a hygienic tube packaging. 9. Affordable price point. 10. Spreads easily on the skin. I didn't repurchase because I have extremely dry skin. I used it last winter, but I'm planning to try it again this summer. Due to its quick absorption, I found it drying even with reapplication. I'm currently a skincare nomad, but I've ordered Tosowoong Vitamin Cream. If this turns out better, I'll settle with it. After trying various products, this one stands out the most. Moreover, many people noticed my skin becoming fairer, and I felt it too. Of course, I applied sunscreen daily as well! Since I have a darker complexion, the brightening effect might have been more noticeable on me. But truly, my skin tone reached its best ever (used alongside a Galactomyces essence with brightening properties, just these two products). The scent is slightly reminiscent of mosquito repellent, but I personally like such fragrances. And it's so gentle! A friend who bought it with me has extremely sensitive combination dehydrated skin prone to blemishes, always reacting badly to products. Being combination dehydrated, she didn't find it drying even in winter. She's been using this product for over a year now and thanked me for the recommendation. While results may vary, I can vouch for its gentleness. 1. As someone with extremely dry skin, I found it very drying (recommended for combination dehydrated or oily skin types). 2. Those who dislike the scent might need some time to get used to it. 3. It doesn't have any effect on calming blemishes. - It doesn't cause more blemishes or skin reactions, but it doesn't improve existing ones either. 4. Apart from brightening, it doesn't offer any other significant benefits. The reasons I didn't repurchase were the dryness and its basic nature, but now I realize that being basic and simple can be the best. Once I finish my current products, I plan to switch back to this in summer. For those with extremely dry skin who find this drying, I recommend using it together with a facial oil. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinFeb 11, 2018
It provides a comfortably moisturizing feel. Even with just this one product, my skin doesn't feel tight (though results may vary for those with dry skin!). Since it has brightening properties, I notice my complexion looks a bit more radiant when I wake up in the morning! The scent is neither pleasant nor unpleasant - it's somewhat like berries or leaves? I think I'd prefer if it had no fragrance at all. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinJan 17, 2018
It's incredibly hydrating with a slightly chewy, mochi-like moistness. I really think it has whitening effects, and it tingles a bit when applied to blemishes. First of all, the ingredients are so gentle. Every time I use it, I'm praying it doesn't get discontinued. It's only $9, so give it a try! The Madecassoside Balm from A'PIEU is also really great - using them together is amazing! The cream feels like it sits on top of the skin a bit, and if you don't like the tingling sensation, I wouldn't recommend it! If you pat it in well when applying to help it absorb, it feels less like it's sitting on top of the skin. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSep 2, 2017
It's lightweight, moisturizing, and not drying at all. It also seems to have a slight whitening effect. The scent is similar to ointment, which is not particularly pleasant, but the final fragrance is grassy.
