It's best to think of this as just a colorless lip balm, or you'll end up feeling terribly disappointed after buying it. While it's moisturizing, it tends to make dead skin cells swell and become more noticeable. If you want to smooth out those flakes, you'd better choose something else. As for the color, when applied to your lips, it's just like putting on lard. That's all there is to it. Only the Cherry Glazed might be decent. To be honest, this one has no color at all.

While I appreciate the moisturizing effect, it's almost too hydrating, causing the color to fade quickly. You need to reapply often.
