  Pros

  As someone with severe combination dehydrated skin - super oily but also extremely dry underneath - it's really tricky to find the right skincare, especially in winter. If I apply more products to combat dryness, my skin gets overly greasy, but the deep dryness remains. If I don't apply anything, my skin flakes like crazy. But this product completely solved my deep dryness issues! I've personally experienced how proper hydration actually reduces oil production. For the first time ever, I realized my skin texture could be this good - proper hydration really is key. This is honestly the best. The sales associate recommended it saying her skin was just like mine, and she was right - this is truly a holy grail product. If you have dry skin, you absolutely must try this!

  Cons

  It runs out so quickly, I'm crying! When using it morning and night, it barely lasted a month. But thanks to it fixing my deep dryness, I now only use it in the evenings. It rarely goes on sale, and even when it does, it's only 10% off. This time when the moisturizer set was 20% off, I grabbed it at Sephora with an additional discount and stocked up at an amazing price!

  Tip

  You can make it last longer by using it with Silcot cotton pads. The pads are soaked with a lot of essence. In the mornings when you're short on time and can't fully absorb all the essence, just take out one pad and apply it to a Silcot cotton pad - it's perfect for mornings. For the travel-sized product, put about 3 Silcot pads in and mix it up - it's great for touch-ups. At first, I naively tried to use it as-is for touch-ups and the essence would run down my hands, it was a mess! Before, when I did touch-ups, my skin would get so dry and my makeup would flake, but now wiping with the essence-soaked pad actually smooths out dead skin cells and keeps my makeup looking as fresh and hydrated as when I first applied it in the morning. It's amazing! Additional review: Because there's so much essence, I found that using it every night even after my deep dryness was fixed led to over-hydration. It felt like it wasn't absorbing well, was more sticky, and like my skin was rejecting it. Now I use it every 2-3 days when I start to feel dry, and I get that initial feeling of my skin being deeply hydrated again. You need to adjust usage based on your skin condition, not just use it every night without thinking. I can't believe there are times when my skin actually has too much hydration - I'm touched! Anyway, adjust usage to avoid over-hydration to maintain good skin condition.
