It was a bit of a gamble, but I'm glad I took the chance! When I applied it, I didn't feel any itching or any particular issues that I usually get with sunscreens, so it seems to be on the gentler side. The formula has a runny consistency, which I think would be great for those with good skin to spread easily. The staying power is pretty impressive too!
ConsI bought this because it claimed to have no white cast, but wow, was that a joke... If you apply the recommended amount, you might as well be cosplaying as a ghost. It emphasizes dead skin cells, pills like crazy, gets stuck in pores, and being a mineral sunscreen, it feels a bit suffocating. If you put makeup on top, your skin feels like it can't breathe... Maybe because it's so occlusive, I even started getting some small blemishes. To apply it without clumping, you have to pat it in forever - I'm waking up 30 minutes earlier just because of this sunscreen! It's such a time-eater. I don't like this runny mineral sunscreen formula, but I bought it online without trying it first, so I just wasted my money. It reminds me exactly of that light blue Shiseido sunscreen I used before.
TipDon't rub it in, instead pat-pat-pat it on gently. You need some patience to keep patting. I'm giving it 3 stars because at least it didn't cause itching or hives.

Lightweight texture Not too thick, making it easy to apply Other than that, I'm not sure...
Cons1. White cast The white cast is extremely severe If not applied carefully, it clumps up and turns white, especially around the mouth! 2. Scent The fragrance smells somewhat unhealthy 3. Greasiness After application, it feels like there's an oily film on the face Might cause blemishes if left on for too long 4. Makeup pilling When applying cushion foundation after this product, it pills up like dirt
TipNo matter how I apply it, it clumps up... I wonder if there are any pro tips for this...

It didn't cause any blemishes or skin issues.
ConsDespite claiming to be a non-white cast sunscreen, it does leave a white cast. Make sure to pat it in several times after applying to help it absorb! Otherwise, you might experience pilling, especially around the eyebrows. The product has a rather strong cosmetic scent, so those with super sensitive skin should avoid it.
TipSince this sunscreen is quite rich, I'm mixing it with a less oily sunscreen! I'm only applying it on my cheeks and forehead to brighten my complexion with the white cast effect.

However, the coverage is quite thick, so you need to keep reapplying it.
ConsNot recommended for oily skin. There is severe whitening and caking. I bought it because Olive Young recommended it so much, but the application is poor and it cakes even on my oily skin.

It has a powdery type.
ConsAlthough it clearly states that it is a 100% mineral sunscreen without any white cast, when I applied it generously, it made me look even whiter than a ghost... Even considering the mineral UV protection, the white cast is very severe, and the application is extremely thick and sticky. It felt like I poured an entire jar of powder into the sunscreen. As a result, it doesn't absorb into the skin at all, and strangely, it's both powdery and shiny. My skin ended up flaking, wrinkling, and streaking. Also, the cost-effectiveness is not great. I don't recommend it.
Tip✔️ Since it may vary depending on skin type, be sure to test it out before purchasing.

ConsI hate Avène which claims to be non-whitening... It has severe whitening, the makeup slides off, and it gets stuck around the nose area, making my face extremely shiny.

The application was smooth, and since it's a mineral sunscreen, there was no eye irritation or breakouts, which I really appreciated. I can see how some people might not like how white it makes you, and I was surprised at first too, but I ended up liking it later on. Since I don't wear much makeup and have a naturally flushed complexion, anything I apply tends to darken quickly and make me look dull. But this sunscreen maintained a natural, glowing tone as it absorbed, and the effect lasted until I washed it off.
ConsIf you just slather it on, it can really emphasize any dry patches or flakiness... it can even peel off in chunks sometimes. You can't just glob it on, you have to pat it on gently. It's a bit of a hassle. And why do they advertise it as a non-whitening sunscreen when it's clearly a very white, mineral-based formula? Haha. And the price is just too steep for me!

As a result, it spreads evenly without any blotchiness. It's also incredibly small - about the size of a palm - so it's easy to carry around in a pouch or small bag for frequent reapplication when outdoors. It's also easy to remove, so cleansing is simpler compared to other sunscreens, making it good for use on children. When used together with a matte foundation, it gives the skin a radiant, healthy glow, providing a different look.
ConsAs someone who applies sunscreen liberally, I find that if it's too emollient, heavy, or oily, it can be problematic for me. While the sunscreen has excellent spreadability and removability, that's also its downside. To achieve such good application, it ends up being quite greasy, leaving my face very shiny and oily-looking. Even a small amount results in a noticeable glow, which defeats the purpose of adequate sun protection. The advertising claims a matte finish, but in reality, there is no mattifying effect to be found. Trying to blot the oil with powder just causes the powder to get stuck in the greasiness. The easy removability also means it can transfer easily to clothes and surfaces. On a car seat made of fabric, it was difficult to remove the stains (personal experience). Despite the claims of no white cast, I did experience some white cast. As someone with combination skin who doesn't love a very matte base, but does appreciate some blurring of white cast, I don't think I would purchase this sunscreen. The citric acid also makes me concerned about potential pore-clogging. Those with dry skin may also find this too oily, especially in the summer. It might work better in the winter. While I've highlighted a lot of downsides, the sunscreen is actually quite good, if not for the excessive shininess. Most of the issues stem from that oily, glowy finish. *This is a Hwahae Trial Reviewer's feedback.
TipGot it, thanks for the additional feedback. I understand the sunscreen works well when applied directly to the hands, without the need to mix it with other products. Since the hands don't produce as much oil as the face, the spreadability of this sunscreen is beneficial, allowing you to apply it on its own without having to combine it with a cream. Using it on the hands provides both sun protection and helps maintain the skin's natural oils, which is convenient. Avoiding the powder/pact application on the face is also a good tip, as you mentioned it can cause issues. Applying it directly to the hands seems to be a great way for you to utilize this sunscreen. The ease of application is an advantage, especially when you're already using hand creams. Appreciate you sharing this alternative usage perspective!

However, it doesn't appear stark white, but rather blends in naturally, which is actually nice! You may not even need to use a separate base product. It has a strong SPF50+/PA++++ level of UV protection. Compared to that, it doesn't feel overly heavy, so if you do your skincare routine well and apply it, the sun protection effect is good. I have oily skin, and usually the oil comes through after some time, but that didn't happen with this product.
ConsIt's drying 😢 Since my skin is naturally oily, I think that's part of it, but if I do a hydrating skincare routine and then apply this, the dryness isn't as noticeable. Also, if you don't exfoliate properly before applying, it can emphasize the flaky skin 😅 That's the case with most sunscreens though 😞 There was also a slight pilling when applying makeup on top. Despite being a mineral sunscreen, I did experience some eye stinging 😢 That was the most disappointing part...
TipIf you do a thorough exfoliation & skincare routine, the sun protection effect & tone correction is good 😊

It was good that even when applying an adequate amount (two finger widths), it spread evenly across the neck and face without any issues! 2. There was no white cast when it was absorbed sufficiently! 3. The texture was between fluffy and moisturizing, which was just right for using on the body! 4. The small container and low volume make it easy to carry around and use up within the usage period. +I will add more after using it further.
Cons1. The lid of the container is difficult to open and the design is prone to leakage, making it very inconvenient to use. 2. When used with foundation, the foundation tends to shift, but it wipes off easily... the adhesion is not great.
TipPlease apply a full two finger widths worth🙌
