The lingering scent is even more delightful. It's sweet yet has a rich, deep character.
ConsI was hoping to get the body emulsion in this scent too, but it's slightly different, which is a bit disappointing.

There's a significant difference between the initial scent and its lingering aroma. The top notes dissipate fairly quickly, giving way to a long-lasting base. The enduring scent profile: 30% powdery + 10% subtle woody notes + 50% vanilla ice cream + 10% faint smoky incense (perfect for fall/winter) >>> All elements harmonize beautifully. Pleasantly free from floral or fruity notes.
ConsDespite being an eau de parfum, the longevity is disappointingly weak. However, the scent profile is a bit too intense for everyday wear.
TipLikely to suit most women aged 10-30 (projecting an independent rather than childish image). For men, it's best suited to those with a softer image (not traditionally 'masculine') and body fat under 20%, regardless of age. Though subjective, these are the impressions that come to mind.

It starts with a refreshing feel and gradually becomes sweeter
ConsThe scent projection is quite weak. It's nice for personal enjoyment, but as a perfume, it lacks presence

At the top, there's a lemony scent, but it's not purely citrusy - it has a spicy lemon aroma. In the middle notes, you get a hint of cool pine. Finally, it settles into a vanilla and sandalwood finish. Unlike Tom Ford Oud Wood, the lingering scent is sweetish, so I think it won't be as polarizing.
ConsGypsy Water is often criticized for its longevity and sillage. To be honest, the only way to improve its staying power and projection might be to decant it into a travel bottle and reapply frequently.

When I first sprayed it, there was a subtle woody scent and a slightly ambiguous fragrance that made me go '???'. But the lingering scent is incredible! It's described as having vanilla notes, but it's definitely not that cloying sweetness. Instead, it's a warm, sweet aroma that makes me want to keep sniffing where I've sprayed it. While I haven't sampled a vast array of perfumes, this is hands down my favorite scent I've experienced so far.
ConsI wish I could wear this all year round, but since it's such a warm fragrance, it's a shame I can't use it in summer.

Gypsy Water is perfect with its delicate vanilla aroma. It's ideal for autumn wear. Despite being vanilla-based, it's not overwhelmingly sweet. The scent is complex, opening with a fresh hint of bergamot and lemon, followed by a cool middle note of incense, pine needles, and orris. It finishes with a spicy touch and a gentle sweetness, reminiscent not of vanilla ice cream, but more like the woody scent of a vanilla bean pod. It's absolutely perfect for daily use.
ConsThe scent doesn't last very long after the initial spray, so I carry the roll-on version for longer outings. However, the longevity is still better than Jo Malone fragrances, which is why I've been using it as my go-to daily perfume lately.
TipI've found that if I spray it before leaving home and then use the roll-on around lunchtime, the fragrance seems to last much longer. It's quite expensive in Korea, so I'd recommend purchasing it while traveling in Europe or taking advantage of duty-free shopping opportunities.

Let me share the detailed description: A smoky and playful fragrance Top notes of bergamot, lemon, and pepper Middle notes of incense, pine, and iris Base notes of amber, vanilla, and sandalwood It has a unisex appeal and would pair wonderfully with cozy knitwear! The price is a bit steep though, haha. Paying full price might be a bit... well... I'd recommend picking it up at duty-free if you can.
ConsBeing an eau de parfum, I expected the scent to be intense and long-lasting, but that's not the case. I thought the longevity might be poor, but it seems the scent itself is just subtle. The fragrance doesn't really diffuse into the air, so you won't get that strong projection. However, it clings closely to the skin, and when I take a whiff, it blends beautifully with my natural body scent, which I find absolutely delightful! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for a fragrance that makes a bold statement.

The overall balance from top to base notes is exceptional. When first applied, there's a subtle pine needle scent with a hint of citrus, which gracefully fades away. As time passes, a wonderfully cozy and warm woody vanilla aroma emerges. The lingering scent is a perfectly restrained woody note with a touch of sweet vanilla. I was so enamored with the dry-down that I spent the whole day sniffing my wrist!
ConsBeing my favorite fragrance, it's hard to find fault. However, if I had to nitpick, the scent is quite warm, which makes it less suitable for use during late spring to summer when the weather is hot.
TipWhile this isn't a fragrance with weak longevity, perception of lasting power can vary from person to person. If you find the scent doesn't last long enough, try applying an unscented body emulsion or petroleum jelly before spraying. This can help extend the fragrance's longevity.

The scent is a toned-down blend of lemon and vanilla, with more emphasis on the vanilla. It's indeed a sweet fragrance, and the lingering vanilla note is particularly delightful.
ConsBeing a perfume, it starts with a strong alcohol scent that can be harsh on the nose, even causing sneezing. This was also the case with Blanche. Another issue with both Gypsy Water and Blanche is their artificial scent, which seems to irritate the nose. For reference, Black Saffron doesn't cause this discomfort. That's why I was torn between Black Saffron and Gypsy Water when making my purchase. I chose Gypsy Water as my first Byredo fragrance since it's one of their bestsellers. Next time, I'm definitely going for Black Saffron.
TipEau de toilettes are gentler on the nose in the early to mid stages, with a softer initial scent and earlier emergence of pleasant lingering notes. However, they lack in longevity and sillage. Eau de parfums, while initially stronger and less suitable for daily wear, have longer-lasting notes. Byredo seems to have found a good balance. Despite being perfumes, their scents generally feel light, making them great for everyday use. Initially, I was disappointed due to high expectations, but after a month of use, I find myself reaching for Byredo more than other fragrances. The best part is that they work well as comfortable, light daily fragrances. This is the signature characteristic of Byredo perfumes.
