The liquid texture absorbs beautifully. After application, it dries to a matte finish with minimal oiliness or white cast. The only real downside is that it tends to run quite a bit when you sweat. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 19, 2021
Comfortable to use and absorbs well, leaving a matte finish While it's on the matte side, you can feel a rich texture when you apply more layers It has a slight white cast, but if it matches your complexion, it can have a brightening effect - py*****Combination SkinAug 23, 2020
High SPF and a water-like texture that applies moisturizing While it applies like water, which is nice, it's too greasy. It's also a Japanese product... Honestly, I don't understand why it's so popular when there are many better sunscreens out there - wh******Oily SkinRecommendedMay 6, 2020
My face used to be so oily that blotting papers were a must every evening, but with this product, I hardly see any excess oil coming through. It's amazing! The disappointing thing is that it's been discontinued... I'm desperately searching for a replacement! - ls*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedApr 27, 2020
It absorbs well with a fairly smooth application and didn't cause any blemishes! The cleansing effectiveness was great, making it convenient to use! There's no white cast and it seems to provide good sun protection! The strong fragrance was a bit disappointing. The extremely runny liquid texture made it a bit inconvenient to apply as it would drip! After some time, it becomes oily and leaves a shiny finish! It would have been better if the ingredients were of higher quality. The shimmer makes you feel confident when you wear it to the beach! I feel fabulous! - dl******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedFeb 11, 2020
Anessa is a much-talked-about brand, but it definitely delivers results. I've heard a lot of concerns about the ingredients in Anessa products, so I'm not sure if I'll continue using them. Plus, being an imported brand, they're quite pricey. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 9, 2020
As someone with oily skin, this is my holy grail sunscreen. I love that it's not greasy, has minimal white cast, and leaves a light finish. I also felt it performed well in terms of sun protection, which is the primary function of a sunscreen. I didn't experience any blemishes, and personally, I don't see any drawbacks to this product. - el******Combination SkinWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedFeb 3, 2020
This is my holy grail product, and I'm so disappointed it's been discontinued. I used to buy it every time I went to duty-free shops. I love using it when diving, applying it all over my body and face! It's waterproof and extremely popular among divers. I always use it before applying makeup too. The product absorbs well into the skin and lasts for a long time. I'm very satisfied that it doesn't leave any white cast. The only downside is that it's a Japanese product. Apart from the remaining quantity, I hesitated to repurchase it. However, besides this point, I don't have any other complaints. It seems very effective for water activities. It's reliable as it stays on even after diving in deep water and resurfacing. It's popular among divers. - hy*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 18, 2020
Since I wear makeup frequently, the two most important factors for me are: 1. How well it works with other cosmetics 2. Whether it's non-irritating and non-sticky, as I have sensitive and oily skin. - First off, this doesn't cause pilling when I apply makeup over it. - It absorbs smoothly and it's my favorite emulsion type! I prefer emulsions to creams as I tend to over-apply creams. - It's not sticky at all. A friend recommended this knowing I have oily skin, so I bought it in Japan and really liked it. It passes all three criteria, so it's a 5-star product for me! Recently, it's become available at Olive Young and other stores, making it convenient to purchase. The ingredients are a bit disappointing... I hadn't been using Hwahae for a while, but recently started checking again and found 6 potentially harmful ingredients. Director Pi also didn't recommend it. Despite the 5-star rating, because of the ingredients, I probably wouldn't use this if there were other alternatives available. Given how well it works with makeup, I'd use this sunscreen when wearing makeup. When not wearing makeup, I'm considering using a gentler product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 27, 2019
No white cast. Absorbs well. Not much else to say beyond 20 characters... sigh. As someone who's tried various cosmetics for 27 years, I've never been sensitive to allergies or skincare products. I've never had my face react badly or break out from switching products. However, this one made my skin burn after just 30 minutes. I thought it would subside, but the burning sensation persisted for over an hour. I couldn't bear it anymore, so I went back home, removed all my makeup, and washed my face. Even after cleansing and applying emulsion, I developed bumps and couldn't wear makeup for days. My skin peeled as if I'd just returned from a summer trip to Southeast Asia. The burning continued even 4 days after use. It wasn't just me - my boyfriend experienced the same burning sensation, so it's not just my sensitive skin. In conclusion, this product went straight into the trash. Lesson learned: stick with what you know works best.
