Initially, it provides a really clean coverage and the color looks natural After just a short while, it cakes up terribly around the nose and all my pores become visible... It really doesn't suit my dry skin at all Apply only a small amount - wo*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 14, 2019
I've finally found the perfect foundation for tanned skin! Since Koreans generally prefer lighter complexions, shade 23 from domestic brands is often too light. My skin tone is around 24-25, and I like to do makeup that suits my darker skin. Personally, I think the color plays just as crucial a role as ingredients and skin appearance when it comes to base makeup and foundation. I'm thrilled with everything about this product - the ingredients, price, color, and how it looks on the skin (semi-matte to dewy finish depending on the dampness of the puff, doesn't emphasize dead skin cells, great longevity, and medium-high coverage). Highly recommend for those who love a tanned makeup look! Well... I have some acne scars, and when the foundation settles into those areas, it can look a bit dull. Hmm... that's really the only issue I can think of. I've found that applying a lighter concealer over scars before the foundation helps create a smoother finish. Unlike other tanned-color foundations, this one doesn't darken or look muddy after application. You can easily adjust the finish by using a damp or dry puff - it's that versatile! I definitely plan to repurchase. This is one of the best tanned foundations I've ever tried! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 17, 2019
It spreads so naturally and feels lightweight. I don't usually touch up my makeup, but if you apply it a bit brighter initially, it soon settles into a really natural look. That's why I love it so much. It tends to separate quickly on the T-zone and areas with dead skin cells. Apart from this issue, I find everything else about it quite good. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedFeb 9, 2019
Wow, everyone, you absolutely must buy this! For the first time ever, I'm giving a cosmetic product 5 stars! I've discovered my holy grail! Color: I have a 24 shade complexion, and when I swatched it on the back of my hand, it seemed a bit reddish and very pigmented. But when I applied it to my face, it wasn't red at all, and the color was absolutely perfect! Coverage: The coverage is amazing! While it might not be jaw-dropping, I'd say it's medium to high. I don't have many blemishes, but I've included a before and after photo of it covering a dark brown eyeliner - I'm personally very satisfied! Longevity: This is the best foundation I've ever used in terms of staying power! Even when it fades, it does so beautifully and imperceptibly. It's truly incredible! Moisture: I have extremely dry skin, so I was worried when I heard it was matte. I applied it over a thorough skincare routine, and it wasn't dry at all! I'm genuinely amazed! There's not much to dislike, to be honest! There was a bit of oxidation, but it happened quite quickly and didn't continue to darken. It doesn't break down, so I'm satisfied! It's usually 20,000 won, but I got it on sale for 10,000. Make sure to grab it when it's on sale! I was worried it might be drying, so I tried applying it with a damp beauty sponge, which worked well. However, I noticed some oxidation when using the sponge. With a brush, there was almost no oxidation at all! If you apply sunscreen before foundation like I do, try the A'pieu Pure Block Natural Daily Sun Cream! Even with just a quick application of emulsion underneath, it doesn't feel dry at all! The A'pieu Madecassoside Cream is enough on its own! - od*********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 7, 2019
Initially, I bought it for the color, but as I used it, I realized its quality is so good that I started thinking it might be the best foundation from a roadshop brand. When it first came out as a collaboration with Ham Kyung-sik, it was a limited edition, so I stocked up on a few during sales, not knowing when it might be discontinued. To cut to the chase, I really think those with shade 24-25 should give this foundation a try. I know the struggle of searching high and low for a beautifully dark shade among Korean foundations. These days, roadshop brands are slowly expanding their color range, but back in the day, you couldn't even find a shade that matched your skin unless you went for department store brands. But those were insanely expensive. After much trial and error, I finally settled on this: The Saem Foundation in shade 3 Medium Deep. - The color is pretty neutral. It's a nice, versatile shade 24-25 that's neither too yellow nor too pink. - The best part is that when you apply this foundation, it feels moisturizing inside without any dryness, while the outside has a semi-matte finish. They say it's a foundation with good silicone play. I think it deserves a name like 'Sheer Glow' just like the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. Plus, I got this during a sale for just 10,000 won - talk about amazing value for money! - I'm also satisfied with the coverage. I have quite a few blemishes, so overall coverage is a must, and with this foundation, I don't even need concealer. That's how decent the coverage is. This means that if you don't control the amount well, it can go on thick and might look cakey or break apart unattractively, but I've got some tips to prevent that below. - While the color is neutral, there's a subtle pink undertone. It's not a major issue, but I personally prefer a yellow base, so if I had to nitpick, I'd mention this subtle pink tone. (I've heard the undertone varies by shade, so keep that in mind when reading reviews) - As mentioned above, due to its good coverage, it's definitely not a foundation that goes on 'lightly'. I realized this after trying Holika Holika's Hard Cover Glow Foundation - ah, The Saem foundation is somewhat thicker compared to Holika's. The Holika one goes on really thin. If you apply The Saem foundation carelessly (without controlling the amount), you might end up with a cakey base like Western beauty gurus sometimes do. Amount control is crucial. However, since it provides great coverage even with a small amount and creates a semi-matte yet glowy skin finish, I don't really consider this a drawback. When applying this foundation, I recommend using a sponge to pat it on. Pump one dose of foundation onto your palm as a palette, then gradually apply it to your face by dabbing with the sponge. This makes it easier to control the amount, allowing the foundation to go on thinly and evenly. In my experience, the common method of dotting foundation on the face and then blending with a dry sponge was harder to control. For reference, I've used sponges like Skinfood Wedge Puff and Lalabla Large Sponge, but I think any sponge would work fine. I'm not usually one for touch-ups, but when I apply it this way and go out, even if it fades, it fades beautifully, so I don't feel the need to touch up. It stays put well even though I tend to avoid using primer or powder. In summer, lightly dusting powder just around the edges of the face definitely improves the finish. Using primer or powder is a personal choice, and I imagine using those products along with the sponge application method would make the staying power even more impressive. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedAug 24, 2018
The skin finish is seriously addictive. I personally loved the scent too. It tends to get a bit dry as time passes. When used with a damp sponge, it's truly irresistible. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 10, 2018
For a foundation from a roadshop brand, I'm pleased it comes in a darker shade. I actually bought it just based on the color, but surprisingly, the staying power isn't bad and it doesn't break down easily. I'd consider repurchasing when I run out. Overall, it's decent, but there's no standout feature that makes me feel like I absolutely must use this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJun 6, 2018
First off, my neck is darker than my face, so I usually buy foundation to match my neck. I also have redness on my skin and bluish dark circles. Initially, I thought the foundation was a bit too red, but the more I used it, the more I appreciated how well they formulated the color. What's more, it's rare to find a shade around 25 in road shops, which I really liked. The way it wears off is really pretty, and I think the coverage is excellent for what it is. These days, I go out wearing just this foundation without concealer. I tend to sweat a lot, but even when I sweat profusely, it doesn't melt off, so I don't really need to touch up my makeup. Well, it can be a bit drying at times. Other than that, I don't think there's anything to complain about. It's absolutely amazing when used with the Olive Young jelly king puff. I apply Etude primer, then use the Olive Young jelly king puff to apply the foundation, and finally pat Innisfree No Sebum powder all over. Even in the peak of summer when I'm sweating buckets, my makeup doesn't budge! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 26, 2018
It's reeeeeally dark, but it sticks to my skin like glue. I've been applying it regularly throughout the winter. It applies thicker than expected and seems to separate quickly, so you need to apply it in thin layers. More suitable for winter than summer - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMay 18, 2018
The texture and color are great. I love the finish and lasting power. I switched to two new cosmetics and developed small bumps. I'm not sure if it's this product or the other one causing the issue. I'll keep observing and update later.
