As someone whose legs tend to swell easily, I frequently do massages. After trying cooling gels, I gave this one a shot. It's a product that provides a refreshing sensation thanks to its alcohol and menthol content. I bought it because it came with a massager. The scent is lighter than Mentholatum-type products, making it pleasant to use. While it's not entirely non-sticky, it's less tacky than others. Like similar products, the ingredients aren't particularly great. There are some unusual components, and I'm not sure why some of them are even included. The cooling effect isn't outstanding - it's about as effective as a mild Mentholatum. I won't be repurchasing. It's effective on the trapezius muscles when your shoulders feel stiff. Applying it to your forehead when you're drowsy really wakes you up. Be careful around the eyes. The manufacturer is S2 Cosmetics. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 21, 2019
It feels refreshing for massage and seems to help relieve leg swelling and tension. When applying a lot during massage, it feels numbing, possibly due to the cooling effect. I looked it up and found that it contains ingredients that can become toxic or cause numbness. It feels dangerous, so I'm discontinuing use. I'm planning to stop using it now. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 30, 2018
I grabbed this when it was on sale at Olive Young! As someone in the food service industry, I'm on my feet for 12 hours a day, and on super busy days, my legs ache so badly they feel numb. I've tried Hyu-jok-si-gan before, but it wasn't as effective as regular patches. I bought this without any expectations, but wow, I'm so satisfied! On days when my muscles are really tight, I squeeze a line of it down my calves, then use a massage tool to roll it in until it's fully absorbed. It feels just like applying a cooling patch - so refreshing! Even the next morning, my legs felt lighter! Being a gel, it does feel a bit sticky... But I'm pretty satisfied with the cooling effect. If you're not feeling the cooling sensation, you might have tougher skin. For me, it tingles quite a bit, so those with sensitive skin might find it a bit intense! Make sure to use it with a massage tool! - my*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 17, 2018
First off, the scent isn't as medicinal as some might expect. It's closer to a refreshing menthol fragrance. After applying, you might initially think, 'Huh? Why does this cooling gel feel like a regular soothing gel?' But soon after, you'll notice the cooling effect subtly persists. The texture is exactly what you'd expect from a soothing gel. It's also colorless, just like an aloe vera gel. I appreciate that it's free from parabens, benzophenone, mineral oil, triclosan, and artificial colors - a '5-free' formula. However, for some reason, I found myself reaching for it less often than my cooling foot patches. This might be the limitation of a gel-type cooling product. With foot patches, you can just stick them on and forget about them while you do other things. But with this, it gets on your hands when you apply it, and if it rubs off, the lasting power is reduced. Also, they've explicitly listed several ingredients as 'concept ingredients' on the back. In cooling products, it's really the menthol and ethanol that do 99% of the cooling work, while the rest mostly just make up the formula - the others are truly just 'concept' ingredients as they admit. At least they're being honest about it. All in all, it's an excellent product among gel-type cooling products, but whether it's better than cooling patches is debatable. Occasionally, you can find this on sale at E-mart. I've seen it in the discount section at a good price. That's probably the best time to buy it if you're interested. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinNov 9, 2016
I snagged this at Olive Young for a great price! The value for the amount you get is fantastic, so you can apply it generously. It feels cool on application, followed by a brief warming sensation. The absorption isn't great. Even when applied liberally, the cooling effect isn't particularly strong and fades quickly. When massaging it in, the texture starts to pill (not dead skin cells, unfortunately!) after a short while. Among all the cooling gels I've tried, this one has the worst absorption. - wh*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRednessSep 25, 2016
When applied to the legs, you can feel a cooling effect. It's great to generously apply it to your feet and calves in the evening. Even after it's fully absorbed, there's still some stickiness left. When I apply it in the evening, I have to wash it off once in the morning before going to work. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJul 23, 2016
When generously applied all the way down to your calves, it gives your feet a refreshing sensation as if they've just had a massage. Occasionally, as time passes, you might feel your legs heating up and becoming uncomfortable.
