The coverage and staying power are guaranteed. I'm usually too lazy to touch up my makeup, but this lasted well for up to 8 hours. I have shade 22 skin, but it gave a noticeably patchy appearance... - we*********Dry SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 12, 2020
The Hwahae Testers' champion is back with another April Skin review! I've tried almost every April Skin cushion out there, so you could say I've maxed out my April Skin level... haha! The Perfect Cover Fit comes with essence inside. When you press the puff, essence comes out of the small holes while the foundation comes from the center. Unlike the Magic Cushion, this Perfect Cushion gives a beautiful Inner Glow rather than a matte finish, creating a natural-looking complexion. I rushed to buy it as soon as it was released, even grabbing a refill! This cushion has a few downsides. I usually scrape every last bit of foundation from the sponge because I hate waste, but with this one, there's a plastic barrier in the center preventing me from flipping the sponge. It seemed to run out quickly too. Eventually, the essence depleted rapidly, and I was left with just the foundation in the middle. Even when it felt like there was more product inside, pressing wouldn't dispense anything. I ended up throwing it away, but I'm sure there was still product left. It's a shame because having the essence included was great, but pressing the center for the essence turned out to be more inconvenient than I expected. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 10, 2020
The coverage is decent, though not enough to skip concealer entirely. It's quite moisturizing. The coverage is a bit lacking compared to what the ads suggest. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedApr 26, 2020
I heard it was bright, but it's not a stark white brightness - it's more of a radiant glow! There's no darkening, and the staying power is great! I bought it because it was supposed to have good coverage, but it doesn't seem to cover as well as I expected... If you gently sweep the puff around your eyes and nose area, it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines. - hy*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 12, 2020
1. Skin Appearance The skin appearance right after applying the base is truly amazing. It was genuinely wow-worthy. The finish is semi-matte, but it doesn't feel dry at all. 2. Radiance Although it's shade 23, it feels about half to one shade brighter? Most shade 23 products tend to have a yellow undertone, but this one actually has a pink undertone. 1. Coverage The coverage seems to be medium. It's OK for covering blemishes, but for red pimples... I'd say it's better at covering redness. If you layer it for pimple coverage, it can look a bit heavy and thick. 2. Increasing Dryness Despite the initial semi-matte finish that feels moisturizing, the cheek area becomes noticeably dry over time. Yes, you can reduce the dryness with more skincare, but then it breaks down... 3. Breaking Down, Cracking, and Caking Normal skincare routine - U-zone gets dry, cracks, and emphasizes dead skin cells Moisture-focused skincare - Improves U-zone dryness but T-zone cakes and settles into pores Different skincare for T-zone and U-zone - Can delay breakdown, but takes time. Eventually breaks down as mentioned above * The way it breaks down isn't pretty. Darkening is an added issue. It seems best to remove and reapply this product for touch-ups. I usually do my regular skincare routine and then apply different sunscreen formulas to my T-zone and U-zone as the final step. - zj****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 9, 2020
After my skin had a bad reaction a few years ago, I've been trying to use cosmetics with gentle ingredients. I bought this cushion because it was said to have relatively good ingredients without PEG. I've used Sidmool and Sandawha before for their clean ingredients, but the application wasn't great. Since PEG is an ingredient that improves absorption, I'd say this cushion absorbs pretty well for one without PEG. First off, I have combination dehydrated skin and I don't touch up my makeup at all. Maybe that's why, but I notice it gets a bit dry as time passes. So I use a different cushion in winter. Even though I don't touch up or apply a lot, I seem to use this up faster than other cushions. I think the amount feels less, possibly because the guard in the middle prevents using all the product left in the sponge. This seems good for combination dehydrated skin in summer. If you want to use it in winter, make sure to layer your skincare well. - sy*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 12, 2020
Target audience: 1. Those with normal to oily skin who rarely experience dryness 2. People who prefer a natural, 'no-makeup' look (just eyebrows, lips, and skin) as their daily makeup, aiming for a subtle and effortless appearance 3. Those who rarely touch up their makeup throughout the day 4. Individuals with years of makeup application experience Benefits: 1. Hyper-realistic skin finish Provides a basic, clean skin appearance that naturally corrects blemishes and redness. It's neither dewy nor matte, just a simple, fresh look. While it leans towards an Inner Glow type, it's mostly shine-free, giving a 'MY SKIN BUT BETTER' effect. 2. Medium coverage, medium-high longevity, excellent skin fit, minimal pore emphasis, no darkening The basic, clean skin finish offers medium to medium-high coverage. (It covers redness well and can conceal most blemishes without concealer if layered, but doing so might compromise the foundation's natural skin-like finish. The product's dispensing method and the limitations of the built-in puff make it challenging to cover curved areas like the nose. While it effectively conceals imperfections and redness on larger facial areas, redness in curved areas may require special tools or techniques to blend naturally.) The skin-hugging fit is a plus, but it's achieved as the moisture-rich foundation formula absorbs into the puff and dries on the skin. It feels like they've created a dry sponge with a water-logged foundation, as you can't carry a wet sponge around. This method may not be an issue for resilient skin, but those with slightly sensitive skin might experience dry blemishes or minor scratches from the dry puff. For sensitive skin types, it's advisable to switch to a more hydrating puff for long-term use. As it relies on evaporating moisture for its effect, it's not recommended for dry skin types. It's a basic formula that can be used alone without powder for about half a year, including winter and dry seasons. In winter, it can last about 8 hours without touch-ups. For those who can't use primer due to sensitive skin, it conceals about 60-70% of pores. It may settle slightly into pores as it breaks down, but it doesn't break down severely. Not suitable for touch-ups, so it's best used as a standalone product. You can build coverage, but the more you layer, the drier your skin will feel. 1. Color tone! While shade 21 starts as a yellow base, shade 23 doesn't just drop in tone while maintaining a clear yellow base. Instead, it feels like the brightness and tone are adjusted with red pigments and grayness, resulting in a slightly muted look even at similar brightness levels. This helps achieve a natural BB cream-like finish, but it looks just like bare skin with just a bit of color correction and no excess oil.. It's a shame that it doesn't provide clearer redness coverage with a bright yellow tone, even if it means slightly less blemish coverage. 2. Built-in puff The product already tends to dry, but the puff seems to absorb more moisture from the skin with each touch.. It's difficult to control the amount of product, requiring a lot of blending, which can be time-consuming and drying.. This isn't an easy cushion at all, so beginners should just.. buy something else. Due to its unique metal plate structure, you need to dab the foundation right in the center.. but most people control the amount using the top of the puff, making it difficult to achieve delicate touches on areas like the nose, under-eyes, or above the lips with a puff that's saturated in the center. You can only really control the amount by wiping off excess foundation with the dry part of the puff, but this method seems to dry out the skin considerably. So if you're experiencing skin irritation despite buying it for its good ingredients, it might be due to the physical stress caused while applying the cushion. 3. The strong cosmetic fragrance doesn't make it feel like it contains good ingredients at all 4. Difficult to control. You might be able to say 'Oh, I just threw this on and left the house bare-faced...' but it's not really a foundation you can apply carelessly It's good for creating a presentable 'bare face' look for going out. Before use, think of it as an investment for better skin appearance. Apply the foundation evenly across the entire surface of the built-in puff, then dab and discard excess on another surface repeatedly to 'season' the puff with the foundation before use. Always use on a well-prepped skin base, The point is to complete your makeup with just this one product. It seems necessary to find a different tool that works better than the built-in puff. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 8, 2020
It applies smoothly and feels moisturizing... Though I've only used it for a day, so I'm not entirely sure yet. I applied it this morning before going out. Around my pores, it looked unsightly as they appeared more visible. The T-zone area became flaky. But worse than that, my forehead is now covered in tiny bumps, as if I've broken out in a rash. It's all bumpy now. I wonder what ingredient didn't agree with my skin... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 13, 2020
It absorbs beautifully and looks so natural, as if you're not wearing anything at all. I bought this after seeing the coverage in the advertisement, but it's not quite as good as they showed. Still, I'm satisfied considering the price, so I'll keep using it. - j_****Oily SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 13, 2019
This is the first cushion I've settled on and bought multiple times. I've repurchased the shade 23 three or four times, and I've used two of shade 21. I'm satisfied with the ingredients and coverage! I have sensitive skin that doesn't react well to oils, but even my dermatologist said it's okay to use, and the coverage is quite good. I didn't experience any blemishes. I also love how sturdy the puff is, haha. Since I don't have dry skin, it's not drying even in winter. It's moisturizing and has great staying power. There's almost no darkening or breakdown throughout the day! The color range is a bit... I have a light 22 shade with yellowish undertones, so I buy shades 21-23 and use them as needed on different parts of my face. Shade 23 is too dark, and 21 is too light. Shade 22 has a pink base, so it's overly pink. Using 21 (center of face) and 23 (outer areas) in the right combination works perfectly. Since it has good coverage, applying multiple layers can make it look very thick, so controlling the amount is crucial. You can cover your whole face with just a tiny amount, and because the coverage is quite good, it's not exactly a sheer product. For a transparent skin look, you really need to use very little. If you want to cover every single blemish, you should use a concealer instead of the cushion. Trying to cover everything with the cushion can make your makeup look cakey!
