I must have used about 5 tubes before it was discontinued. I bought it both online and in-store at Olive Young. I love products with a slight white cast, and when I applied this and then used a foundation one shade lighter, my skin looked absolutely flawless.
ConsIt is quite drying, I must admit. Even in the peak of summer, I hardly produced any sebum. And it seems to have been discontinued... I can't find it anywhere. If it hadn't been discontinued, this would have been a holy grail product for me. Sigh...
TipApply the recommended amount and use a foundation one shade lighter?

It controls oil so well that my skin feels as natural and matte as can be, which I love because it lasts all day (even in summer). When applying, it's moisturizing with great absorption, and I didn't mind the slight white cast.
ConsThe amount feels small compared to the price, and it might be too drying for winter use.

ConsBeing a mineral sunscreen, it inevitably becomes dry over time and tends to settle a bit around the nose. Also, the price can be a bit steep when it's not on sale.
TipKeep an eye out for sales

I don't wear makeup, just sunscreen, and this leaves my skin feeling soft and matte. There's no stickiness at all. It would be great for oily skin types. I usually apply the recommended amount of sunscreen, and I love that this has safe ingredients. The slim case makes it convenient to carry around too.
ConsBeing a mineral sunscreen, it does leave a white cast. Especially when I apply the full recommended amount, I can't go out wearing just this. I'd need to layer something over it, otherwise my face looks like kabuki makeup... I tried using it on days when I'm staying home to not waste it, but the matte feeling turns into dryness. As time passes, my skin feels extremely tight... I ended up giving up on using it. It probably won't suit those with dry skin.

Absorption - Absorbs very well. It feels like a mix between a sunscreen essence and a regular sunscreen? It was easy to spread evenly. White cast - One of the things I really liked. I deliberately applied only this sunscreen without anything on top and observed for about 6 hours, and there was absolutely no white cast. I tend to get dark spots around my eyes, so I usually apply extra there, but even that area was indistinguishable from the rest. Oiliness - There's no oily feeling. I have oily skin, so I used to only look for sunscreen essences because of the oiliness in sunscreens. But even some sunscreen essences can be oily, so I used to blot with oil-absorbing sheets after applying them and before makeup. This one, however, has no oily feeling. Even after 6 hours of wear, there was no shine.
ConsDryness - There's a very slight feeling of dryness. It might be because it's so dry these days. However, it's manageable if you pay attention to hydration in your skincare routine. Blemishes - It didn't seem to calm existing blemishes. But then again, the primary purpose of sunscreen isn't to treat blemishes... I think it's fine as long as it doesn't irritate the skin. The 4-star rating is due to the dryness, but honestly, I wanted to give it 4.5 stars.
TipI'll add more thoughts after using it for a bit longer.

First impressions: I loved how soft the texture felt. It's also practically fragrance-free. This might be perfect for those with oily skin who hate that greasy feeling in summer.
ConsMy skin is generally dry, except for some oiliness on my nose. While the ingredients are good quality for a mineral sunscreen, it still left my skin feeling parched. There's some aromatic oil towards the end of the ingredient list, but it doesn't add any richness. Personally, I prefer sunscreens that are hydrating with a slight white cast, but this one doesn't have that at all, which is a bit disappointing. I've become so ingredient-conscious that almost everything I use now has zero or very few potentially harmful ingredients. However, for sunscreens and makeup, I think texture and how well it absorbs without pilling are just as important as the ingredient list, especially for someone like me who wears makeup often. Since this product keeps leaving my skin feeling dry, and summer is approaching (plus sunscreens have about a 6-month shelf life), I might end up using it generously on my body instead. In the future, I'll probably try a moisturizing hybrid or organic sunscreen with good ingredients, or maybe go back to using IPKN (the red tube) which I found to be incredibly hydrating.
TipPro tip: Since this product isn't rich and doesn't leave a white cast, it works well mixed with a non-drying brightening moisturizer on no-makeup days if you prep your skin well. However, if you have dry skin, I wouldn't recommend this for transitional seasons or cold weather. There are many hydrating mineral sunscreens available these days. On the other hand, those with oily skin might love how light and soft this feels.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsAs a first-time winner of The Hwahae Testers, I tried my best to write a thorough review, even applying it when I stayed home! The absorption is truly excellent, with almost no white cast. However, there's a subtle brightening effect on my skin - a feeling, if you will. In the attached photo where I've applied it to half my face, can you tell which side? That's how minimal the white cast is! I didn't expect much from a product with zero harmful ingredients, but wow! Who knew good ingredients alone could deliver such results? It's quite a pleasant surprise. The simple design fits perfectly in one hand, and I love the blue line on the cap. I have combination dehydrated skin with an oily T-zone and slightly dry U-zone. On the first day at home, I wore it for over 12 hours without realizing. There was no typical sunscreen stuffiness, and my T-zone remained impeccably clean - I thought I wasn't wearing anything! It's quite moisturizing for makeup application too. No need for a separate base - foundation spreads well and creates a beautiful skin finish. My first impression and feeling after a week of use = Wow, this is a gem! I'm thrilled to be chosen as a tester for such a great product!
ConsAs there was no oiliness even after 12+ hours, on days when my skin feels a bit dry, there's a slight tightness. A persistent tightness that doesn't go away even with repeated misting. Highly recommended for summer, but I might not reach for it much in winter. I've been using Dr. Ato sunscreen, which is washable and cleanses well with just water. But with this one, even after foam cleansing, it feels like it's not completely removed, leaving my skin feeling tight. It seems like oil cleansing is necessary for perfect removal, which is a bit inconvenient. And the price is a bit... While it's better in terms of ingredients and price compared to Kiehl's or Lancôme that I used before discovering Hwahae, my current Dr. Ato is less than 10,000 won when on sale. So I might hesitate a bit when considering a purchase.
TipRecommended for summer rather than winter! Well, with SPF50+ and PA++++, it's perfect for midsummer. Those with dry skin might struggle a bit, so it's advisable to create a moisture barrier with a hydrating cream or oil in your skincare routine.

This could be due to the changing seasons, but it was definitely on the drier side. Also, if you're not a fan of scented sunscreens, you might not like this one.
TipIf you apply a moisturizing cushion or foundation over this, it seems to help control oil a bit later on. I'd recommend this more for oily or combination skin types rather than dry skin. It's perfect for those days when you don't feel like putting on a full face of makeup - just apply this and you're good to go. It provides some color correction, giving you that soft, luminous look. When cleansing, I find it removes well if you first wipe with an oil-soaked cotton pad, then cleanse again with oil, and finish with a natural soap.

It feels like applying a moisturizing emulsion! It absorbs well and gives a temporary glow when applied. It feels hydrating and isn't greasy at all! 2. The scent isn't off-putting - it's slightly reminiscent of glue? As someone who prefers fragrance-free products, I really like that the scent is barely noticeable! 3. Minimal white cast. Instead of leaving a floating white layer, it naturally brightens the skin a bit. Even if you're not a fan of whitening effects, this level should be quite acceptable! 4. Skin-friendly ingredients! They claim to have included soothing ingredients, and I didn't experience any blemishes. The formula is gentle! Looking at the ingredient list, it seems like a trustworthy product.
Cons1. If you have dry skin, you might feel some dryness about 2-3 minutes after application. Unlike when you first apply it, it dries quickly, which can cause makeup to look patchy when applying base or foundation. I'm currently using it with a hydrating moisturizer to combat this issue.
TipSince I have dry skin, I'm mixing it 1:1 with my regular moisturizer!

It didn't leave any oily residue, and even though I have super sensitive skin, I didn't experience any breakouts!
ConsWhen I apply a lot of sunscreen, it gets too dry, causing my foundation to crack when I put it on. Apart from that, it's good.
