It's non-irritating and calms down breakouts. It's like a sunscreen that makes my skin better.
ConsI wish there was a larger size available. ㅎㅎ I don't really have any complaints. ㅠㅠ
TipIn my opinion, you should apply an appropriate amount of base makeup and then use this product. It's a sunscreen without any pilling, but since it also has some moisturizing properties, ㅎㅎ

I'm completely satisfied with this purchase - it has great application and absorption, no white cast, and is gentle according to reviews.
ConsThe volume is smaller than expected, which is disappointing. Please increase the volume.

It is suitable for dry to combination skin types. In the summer, it may feel a bit heavy, but it should be just right to use until the transitional seasons! As a gentle mineral sunscreen, it does not sting the eyes and can be used gently. There is no white cast or pilling, which is great. And the appearance is pretty♡
ConsSince I have combination skin, I do feel it is a bit, just a tiny bit, heavy. It should be fine until the transitional seasons, but I think it might be a bit burdensome in the summer. And the price range is a bit on the expensive side, I would say that could be a downside.
TipThe soft and slightly moisturizing formula can result in a bit of a glow after full makeup application. If you want to increase the longevity of your makeup, lightly dusting on some powder can be helpful. Or you can use it just as a skin tint, skipping makeup and using it as a lotion or cream alternative!

My skin was originally in a neutral state and completely healthy, but due to lack of care and various circumstances, it has become extremely dry and sensitive. ㅠㅠ Anyway, for that reason, I couldn't even apply sunscreen properly and had to consider UV protection, so I applied for this product after searching for a mild one, and I'm grateful that I was selected this time! My impression is as follows~ 🍒 Ingredients First of all, when choosing a product, I consider the ingredients first, and this product has safe ingredients, so I applied for it and expected the usage experience to be better. Since chemical sunscreens can be very harsh on the skin, I prefer physical sunscreens, and fortunately, this product only contains those ingredients. 🍒 Texture I thought it was a sunscreen, but when I applied it, it was much more watery than I expected, and it turned out to be a sun essence. The watery texture makes it easier to spread. When I applied it to my forehead, at first, there was no visible trace, so I applied it several times. But even then, there was no visible trace. 🍒 White cast Since I also use sunscreen to achieve a slight tone-up effect, and this product has high mineral UV protection, I expected some white cast, but there was hardly any. So the tone-up effect was less than expected. As I don't wear much makeup, this was a bit disappointing.^^; For those who wear a lot of makeup, it won't be much of an issue, and those who dislike white cast will find this product comfortable. 🍒 Eye irritation This is the biggest downside! When I applied it around my eyes, I immediately felt eye irritation. ㅠㅠ I always struggle with eye irritation when using sunscreen, and this product also caused eye irritation, which was disappointing. Despite the need to protect the eye area the most, I had to avoid applying it there. 🍒 Cost-effectiveness The product comes in a handy, travel-friendly size, similar to a hand cream. However, the price is a bit high compared to the amount, so you may feel it's not very cost-effective. It would be better if the price was a bit lower. 🍒 After cleansing It may vary from person to person, but in my case, I always feel a bit uneasy because sunscreen products don't feel completely removed after cleansing. This product was just so-so in this regard.
ConsThe eye irritation was the most disappointing part. The tone-up effect was also lacking, so it was difficult to apply it properly. However, the UV protection effect is strong, so it should only be used when absolutely necessary.
TipDespite being dry, there was no sense of dryness. If you have dry skin, I recommend first applying a generous amount of cream or oil, then applying the sun essence and gently patting with a thin oil blotting paper - it will leave you with a clean, polished look.

The appearance is so neat and clean, and it feels like it might be oil-free, so I was really excited to apply it. The best part is that the texture is super smooth and soft. And it's gentle on the skin.
ConsBut the moisture level is quite high, and there's a slight oily residue left on the surface. Compared to the Eclado sunscreen I used before, that one absorbed completely without any greasy feeling. This one has a bit of that leftover oil. And the scent... it's not really my favorite. It has a slightly sharp, pungent smell. I think an unscented or a fresher scent would have been better, as this one is a bit like medicine. The gentle formula is definitely a plus, but the strong scent might be a turn-off for those with sensitive skin. And for oily skin types, the leftover oil could be an issue.
TipI think this would work well for dry skin types, but for oily skin, it might end up being a bit too greasy. If you're not a fan of blotting papers, I wouldn't recommend this. The formula itself is very gentle, though.

I thought it would smear when I first applied it, but it didn't smear at all when I was doing my makeup, which I liked. Fragrance: It has a herbal scent. It might be divisive, but personally, I found it mild and acceptable. Skin Concerns: I'm quite sensitive, and products that are too strong or don't suit me usually cause me to break out, but I haven't had any breakouts yet. And while it does make my skin look a bit whiter, it doesn't make me look unnaturally pale and washed out, which is good. This is my first time writing a Hwahae Trial Reviewer review, and I'm glad a good product came my way. Haha.
ConsThis is purely personal, but I like squeezing products directly onto my face, and this container dispenses a lot of product at once, so I have to be careful to scoop out just the right amount. Other than that, I like everything else about it!~

Moisturizing and Fresh The name itself says 'Essence', and it really does feel like an essence - lightweight and easy to apply. As someone who prefers lightweight sunscreens, this one felt just like applying a lotion, refreshing and comfortable. 2. Non-irritating I usually have issues with sudden breakouts and sensitive skin, but this sunscreen has a light essence-like texture, so it doesn't feel irritating at all. I feel safe using it. 3. Natural Brightening Effect Since it's a mineral sunscreen, there is some white cast, but the brightening effect is very natural and subtle. This is exactly the kind of sunscreen I was looking for, with a natural tone-up result. - The photo shows half my hand with and without the sunscreen applied, and the brightening effect is very natural and beautiful 💕
Cons- It has a slightly watery texture, so you need to be careful when squeezing it out. - It does feel a bit oily/greasy, as it is moisturizing. In the current cool weather, it's fine, but I'll have to see how it performs in the summer when my skin is oilier. Given my naturally oily skin, the greasiness might be more noticeable during the warmer months.

This was my first time applying to be a Hwahae Trial Reviewer and writing a review. I was looking for a mineral sunblock product and tried out several, but got tired of it, so I decided to apply to be a Hwahae Trial Reviewer as well. It was not irritating.) My skin already turns red just from washing my face, so when it comes to using skincare products, I tend to think that as long as it's not irritating, that's good enough. When I apply something and it stings, I don't use it afterwards, but this was fine. There was no stinging or eye irritation even after applying it. The moisturizing was also good.) At first, I felt like there was an oily film on my face when I applied it, but that went away over time and it just felt moisturizing. But of course, since it's a mineral sunscreen, there is a bit of a powdery feeling, which is unavoidable. Still, by the afternoon, my skin wasn't flaking or peeling, which was good. Normally with other mineral sunscreens, I'd have about a level 10 of peeling, but this was only about a level 2. The application was good.) Mineral sunscreens are usually really thick and difficult to apply, but this one applied well. I normally use Physiogel as my base, and this was just a tiny bit more fluid and spread more easily. For a mineral sunscreen, the white cast was minimal, which is great. And since I don't wear other makeup, the slight tint was actually nice, but for those who really dislike white cast, this mineral sunscreen would still be a good option. Other thoughts) Even over time, there was no irritation, and with the minimal white cast, it didn't leave much residue on my clothes either. I removed it with cleansing oil and it came off cleanly without any issues.
ConsThe fragrance... it has a sort of pine-like scent. It's the kind of fragrance that could really divide opinions, and I was not a fan. It says they didn't add any artificial fragrances, so I wonder what ingredient is causing this. The scent doesn't linger for long, but I was still a bit taken aback when I first applied it. Those who like pine scents might enjoy it though.
TipI think it's okay to apply it a bit thicker as well. It wasn't bad to use even in the winter.

My skin used to be a combination/neutral type that didn't have much trouble with mineral sunscreens. However, about a month ago, my skin suddenly became extremely dry and sensitive, so organic sunscreens don't feel drying, but they are irritating and sensitizing. Mineral sunscreens aren't irritating, but they are too drying for me. So I've been doing my basic skincare routine with gentle, moisturizing products and then just applying foundation directly without a sunscreen. But I can't keep skipping sunscreen either... So I decided to try this product after reading the Hwahae reviews, and I'm so satisfied with it! It applies like an essence, and since it's a mineral sunscreen, it's not irritating. There is some white cast, but it's more like a tone-up effect. It's not completely free of white cast, but among mineral sunscreens, this has a relatively low level of white cast. When my skin was normal, I used the Innisfree Oat Mild Moisture sunscreen, which also doesn't have an extreme white cast among mineral sunscreens. (I really like Innisfree's mineral sunscreens too.) But this Pestle sunscreen has even less white cast than Innisfree, maybe around 60% of Innisfree's level. And the scent is less irritating too. With mineral sunscreens, you need to rub it in a bit more to reduce the white cast. And over time, I don't feel the typical drying effect of mineral sunscreens at all. But don't expect the same moisturizing, oily feel as organic sunscreens. This mineral sunscreen is moisturizing for a mineral one, and I'm really happy with it!
ConsIf there was a mineral sunscreen with zero white cast, it would be the perfect product, but that technology doesn't exist yet, so no company has been able to achieve that. Due to the nature of mineral sunscreens, even if it applies without any white cast, once your face heats up and you start sweating, the white cast will become very visible. It would be great if this sunscreen was available at drugstores like Olive Young, Lala Blla, Lohbs, or Boots, where it's easy to purchase. Having to buy it only online is a bit inconvenient!
TipThe key features of this product are that it has less of the typical drying effect of mineral sunscreens, and it has relatively less white cast. To fully experience these benefits, you absolutely need to have a very hydrating skincare routine as the base. Even dry-skinned individuals can use this product properly if their skin is well-moisturized. If you just apply this on top of a lacklustre skincare routine, dry-skinned people will likely still find it drying.

But this one seems gentle, so I like it!
ConsThere are no troubles either, and it's gentle, so I like it! There are no inconvenient issues.
