If you need more moisture, applying an oil or balm-based cream or ointment on top can make your skin look even better.

There doesn't seem to be any real downsides. If I had to nitpick, the price is on the higher end.

My skin is very prone to dryness and breakouts. It seems like my skin type retains heat, so the heat gets trapped on my face.
Even a little bit of stress can cause my skin to heat up and break out. At a certain point, the breakouts would not subside or mature, which was really difficult.
When I use the Cenzic Sensitive Serum and just the Hwahaemoon balm, there is no more tightness and just the perfect amount of plumpness remains.
Everything except the price is really great!

If I applied the entire Hwahae line of skin creams, the highly nourishing formula might cause breakouts, so I would just cleanse my skin, wipe it with a light toner, and then apply the Hwahae Cream before bed. That was enough for me.

The price is outrageous..?! And since it's highly nourishing, if I apply it too consistently, I sometimes get a pimple or two popping up, so I had to take breaks (like applying it in the morning but not at night, or deep cleansing on days when my skin felt overly dry before applying it).
Since it's high-end, I also had to use it sparingly..
Other than that, I don't think there were any particular downsides.

It wasn't too thick and was moisturizing, absorbing well into the skin, so I used it with great satisfaction.
The scent was subtle and didn't have the typical herbal medicine-like scent, so I could use it without any aversion.
I have dry skin, so I need to prep my base well before makeup, otherwise flaky skin appears..ㅠ
