It seems to be a popular product, so I'm not sure why it was discontinued. The color is pretty and the lip pencil design itself is cute, making it easy to carry around. While it doesn't show up well in photos, it's a 'my lips but better' (MLBB) shade. Since wearing Dolce Vita alone can feel a bit lacking, I've used it by either layering a glossy lip product on top or creating a gradient effect with a slightly darker color. I bought the NARS-specific pencil sharpener to match the style, but the price was... well. Also, every time I sharpen it, the length decreases rapidly. It's such a shame and I'm afraid to use it because it feels wasteful. - pc*****Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 7, 2024
A classic MLBB shade that applies smoothly, making it perfect as a base. It's a versatile and pretty color that glides on effortlessly. For a lip product that you sharpen rather than twist up, I wonder if there aren't many alternatives if you're looking to use it as a base. It might not be worth buying specifically for that purpose. - wf*****Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedOct 26, 2024
As a basic lip product, this is unbeatable. It enhances your natural lip color, giving it a subtle boost of vitality. The twist-up mechanism can be inconvenient, and it wears down surprisingly quickly. The price is also quite steep compared to typical drugstore lip products. - ki****Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 2, 2024
The color is beautiful. It absorbs well and is easy to carry around. If you have a darker complexion, it might look too similar to your natural lip color, so the pigmentation doesn't show up well. Also, sharpening the pencil can be a hassle. It can be sharpened with an Innisfree pencil sharpener. - 2c**Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 13, 2024
The color is truly unmatched. I used to be a lip product nomad, but after buying Dolce Vita, I don't spend money on other lip products anymore. I was worried about the longevity since it's a velvet lipstick, but it doesn't really slide off and is surprisingly good. The cap can shoot off if not closed properly... You need to be careful when closing it. - li**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 7, 2024
This lipstick was ahead of its time, launching the dried rose shade before it became a trend in the cosmetics industry. The application is smooth and sheer, without the typical heaviness of lipsticks. I loved it so much that I used to stock up on multiple tubes. Being in a lip pencil format, there were times when the inner core would fall out in extremely cold weather. I've also accidentally broken the lipstick while sharpening the outer part. It's perfect for adding a healthy tint to your lips daily. Just moisturize your face and apply this lipstick for a beautiful look, even with no other makeup. It layers well with darker shades and works great as a base due to its natural lip-like color. I've even used it as a quick blush in emergencies - no one could tell! The color is simply gorgeous. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedDec 4, 2023
The color is absolutely gorgeous, and it applies better than I expected I wouldn't recommend using this product alone. It's better for defining lip lines or layering - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 3, 2023
What sets this apart from other matte lip products is how incredibly lightweight and thin it applies. I'm not in the habit of using lip balm, so I often have some dead skin cells on my lips, but this doesn't make my lips look dry at all. It just adds color, giving a very natural and pleasing effect. I have small lips that suit glossy finishes better, so I don't own many matte products, but this one applies so thinly that it doesn't look awkward. I wear it often! When I apply it lightly just to the inner part of my lips, it looks just like my natural lip color, which I love. I don't have any real complaints now, but if I had to nitpick, I'd say it feels a bit wasteful when sharpening the pencil. Then again, that's part of the charm of using a lip pencil... - hy*********Normal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsSep 1, 2023
There's absolutely nothing good to say about this product. Even a 1-star rating is too generous for this. After using it for the first time as a birthday gift, the edges of my lips became swollen, itchy, and developed blister-like bumps. I went to the dermatologist and was diagnosed with contact cheilitis. At first, I thought it might be due to stress, so I suffered for a while, using steroid ointments and taking medication, unable to use any lip products. After a few months when things seemed better, I thought it would be a waste to leave it unused, so I applied it before going out. The next day, it flared up again. Cheilitis is known to recur easily once you've had it, so you always need to be careful. Thanks to this, I now have to scrutinize every ingredient in lip products before using them, which is really frustrating. NARS isn't exactly cheap, so why are they using cheaper ingredients than some Korean roadshop brands that cost around $10? It's truly disappointing. - ky*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 21, 2023
Great as a base lip color or for overlining. The matte finish makes it easy to apply. The color is beautiful. I received it as a gift, but if I had bought it with my own money, I'd feel it's too precious to use casually. The staying power is a bit lacking, unfortunately. It's excellent for overlining!
