Why is this discontinued? It's still openly sold on the official home site in its country of origin. Don't assume Blistex is gone just because it's discontinued in Korea. Besides, Blistex is always purchased through direct overseas buying, so it doesn't matter whether the Korean distributor discontinues it or not. First off, it's a gentle medicated lip balm. The scent is soft and cozy, like vanilla. Still, it contains camphor and menthol, which cool your lips and provide some relief when they're chapped. With ingredients like candelilla wax, it feels less heavy. While the coating power is lower, it allows your lips to breathe. It's like a mild version of medicated lip balm. (Note: The official website lists petrolatum/petroleum jelly as the first ingredient, but the ingredient list on Hwahae seems incorrect) To cut to the chase, if you're using medicated lip balm, stick with that. I got this because I needed sun protection for my lips too, but while it has SPF 20, there's no PA rating. I couldn't find any effective UV protection ingredients in the formula. (Maybe that's why it couldn't pass the KFDA and was discontinued?) That said, I don't have any particular complaints. It's gentle, so I've used several tubes. It's far superior to stick types, but not as effective as lip masks or medicated balms. It's right in the middle in terms of quality Definitely buy it through direct overseas purchase. It's even cheaper on Cou*** or iHe** - ju***********Oily SkinRecommendedDec 15, 2020
It's very similar to the Lip Medex product, and it's great that the SPF is 20, which is even better than the recommended minimum of SPF15 for good sun protection. It's a shame it's being discontinued. I didn't experience any particular blemishes, but it does feel a bit thick when applied. - so*******Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 14, 2019
✔️My lips are the type that tend to have a lot of peeling skin due to me biting them. 👉When used, the area around my lips becomes soothed and cooled. Even as summer approaches, I always apply it before lip color - it's great for a light application! The moisturizing power isn't that outstanding. It's a lightweight, slightly moisturizing type and the staying power is so-so. The reason I deducted a star is because it has a smell like tiger balm.. It's like applying tiger balm to your lips, you know? Although the moisturizing power isn't the best, it's better to use it as a base before lip color as it has less feathering!
