I think lipstick longevity is important, so there aren't really any downsides, but if I had to mention one, it would be the orange tint?! Even so, I just reapply it as needed, so it doesn't really bother me.

It's a great formula to use as a cream blush! Gently dab and pat the lipstick with your fingertips onto the cheeks!

I've tried both Retromatte and Matte... The application is really smooth. That's why it's easy to do gradient application as well.
It has a crayon-like texture but applies very smoothly, not thick and sticky. It adheres immediately upon application.
And there's no stickiness either.
