I loved that despite being a matte lip product, it wasn't stiff when applying. It's incredibly thin and lightweight, so it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything on your lips. While it applies thinly, it still covers dull lip color, and the toned-down coral shade is versatile for year-round use. Although it does wear off from the inner lips first, the staining is even for a lipstick, so the longevity is quite good. The case shows the inner color, and it's light and compact, making it easy to carry multiple in your makeup bag without any hassle. Being a matte lip product, it seems unavoidable that it emphasizes dead skin cells and can settle into lip lines. You need to care for your lips before application, and by evening, I noticed some flaking. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 29, 2022
I absolutely love the subtle color payoff! It's perfect for a natural, no-makeup look. Due to its matte finish, it tends to accentuate dead skin cells on the lips. However, applying lip balm beforehand helps mitigate this issue. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 21, 2020
It's a dapper coral shade that's the epitome of coral perfection. The finish is wonderfully matte, and the application is incredibly smooth and enjoyable. Given that it's a matte product with a powdery finish, it does tend to slightly accentuate dead skin cells. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 21, 2020
It's a great color to use as a base for gradients. It's also absolutely stunning when worn on its own! There's a slight tendency to clump and it has a somewhat matte finish, so make sure to exfoliate well if you want it to apply beautifully. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMar 8, 2020
One of my repurchased holy grails! I have a deep undertone and light skin, and while MLBB lips don't suit me, this is perfect when I want to create a mood. It's a honey item!! The texture is like velvet, and although it's a matte lip, it's not stiff when applied (the formula is quite intriguing). It's like a dried rose with a hint of pink and a slight fluorescent touch. You could also describe it as a subdued coral shade. I truly can't find a similar color anywhere else. It's just so beautiful! It doesn't fade prettily. Being a matte formula, it does emphasize dead skin cells a bit, but it's not severe compared to others. It works great as a base color, on its own, or for gradients. Not recommended if you prefer moisturizing lip products. There's a slight fluorescent touch to it, so if that kind of shade doesn't suit you at all, I wouldn't recommend it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJul 20, 2019
Smooth application and vibrant color payoff. It applies well even when lips are oily, compared to other lipsticks. As I've gotten older, matte lips tend to look less healthy. Do I need to dab on some lip balm? I don't have any specific tips to share. I've almost used it all up. I reached for this more often than my Chanel lipsticks. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 11, 2019
The color seems to suit any complexion. It's great that I can apply it on bare lips without feeling awkward. While it may vary depending on lip condition, being a matte lipstick, it felt a bit drying for me. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinNov 21, 2018
This color is perfect for those with a deep undertone! It's not exactly MLBB, but rather a toned-down coral that suits muted tones within the deep undertone spectrum beautifully. Among Shu Uemura's matte lipsticks, each shade has a slightly different texture. Dandy Coral applies more creamily and smoothly compared to Gangnam Orange or Gangnam Pink! It also has less staining power than those two lipsticks. As expected from a matte lipstick, it can be drying. A lip balm is a must! Also, while it feels fine at first, dead skin cells tend to build up over time - an unavoidable issue with matte formulas. The color is quite delicate, which tempts you to reapply often. Be careful though, as applying it too thickly can result in a 'yogurt lips' effect! Despite some drawbacks, the uniquely beautiful color makes this my go-to lipstick for everyday wear. To avoid applying it too thickly, I don't use the bullet directly. Instead, I dab it on my finger and then pat it onto my lips. Using a lip brush would probably work even better. The photo below shows a swatch comparison with Chili Rose. Dandy Coral is on top, and Chili Rose is below. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinNov 19, 2018
As a matte lipstick enthusiast, I think this is the only product that applies lightly with excellent adherence and color payoff. It doesn't come off easily, yet it's not too drying - it's absolutely fantastic! The subdued coral shade is perfect for daily wear. The saturation is neither too bright nor too dark, making it versatile for various occasions. Being a matte lip product, it does tend to slightly emphasize dead skin cells on the lips.
