It works well for my sensitive, dry skin. I love how gentle it is.
ConsFor those with dry skin, you might need something with more moisture and richness.
TipThe texture is nice, and it absorbs well when you gently pat it into your skin.

It's good for everyday, no-fuss use.
ConsIt's truly just like water, so it doesn't help with hydration or oil balance. There's also no change in sebum production.

I'd say it's 95% moisture and 5% oil. It feels incredibly moisturizing, almost like applying a water-based essence. The consistency isn't completely runny like water, but it has a nice, moderate flow. It absorbs well, so I thought it could even work as a mask. I tried it on a cotton pad, and when chilled, it felt refreshingly cool - perfect for summer use. It would be great to use like a sheet mask before makeup for that extra boost of hydration. It seems to balance the skin and even helps cool down your face.
ConsAfter absorption, it feels a bit light since it's an oil-free skin. It's fine for me as I usually apply ampoules and moisturizers afterward, but those with combination to dry skin might find it a bit lacking. You'll definitely need to follow up with more emollient products.
TipPersonally, I preferred patting it in rather than using a cotton pad. Whether you're doing the 3-skin or 7-skin method, it absorbs completely, so don't be shy - use it generously!

In that regard, this birch tree toner's bottle is absolutely stunning! It's so different from typical cosmetic containers, giving you the feeling that it's been freshly bottled straight from a pristine forest full of beautiful white birch trees. It has a much more natural vibe compared to mass-produced cosmetics, which I find incredibly appealing. Being a huge fan of birch trees, I'm thrilled that Round Lab named this hydration line after them. It's perfect for my combination dehydrated skin that's seriously lacking in moisture, as it focuses solely on hydration without any excess oil. I was so impressed with the birch tree moisturizer that I decided to buy the entire line - toner and mask included - during their last sale. And I'm happy to report that they're just as satisfying as the cream! As someone with combination dehydrated skin prone to blemishes when using rich products, I prefer lightweight moisturizers like the birch tree cream (except in the dead of winter). So naturally, I look for even lighter products for the first step of my skincare routine. The birch tree toner fits the bill perfectly. While there are many lightweight toners out there that feel no different from water, this one actually provides a noticeable boost of hydration. Using it in combination with the birch tree moisturizer creates a fantastic synergy for my skin.
ConsEven though I typically can't tolerate rich skincare products, I find that during extremely dry seasons, this birch tree line alone isn't quite enough. I often need to finish off my routine with something more nourishing, so I'll add a tiny drop of jojoba oil as a final step.

During the initial days, my skin was quite dehydrated, and I was too lazy to layer it thinly. So, I tried to apply a lot at once, which made me think it didn't absorb well and just sat on the skin. However, if you apply it thinly about 3 times, you can feel the hydration building up from within! It gives me a sense that my skin is becoming healthier, which I love. The scent isn't off-putting either. I got it at a good price for the amount, and while I wouldn't say it's just about value for money, the product effectiveness is truly impressive.
ConsIt doesn't absorb quickly. Also, rather than using this alone, you should lock in the moisture with a richer cream.
TipSoaking a cotton pad and using it as a skin pack works wonders - it really shows the true value of the product. I've heard it's also great to use before applying makeup.

As mentioned in the product description, while the Dokdo Toner is for wiping off, the Birch Toner is used like a skin. As a result, while the Dokdo Toner has a water-like texture, the Birch Toner has a slightly viscous consistency, giving it a more hydrating feel. I always felt like something was missing when I went straight from thorough cleansing and Dokdo Toner to the emulsion. But with this, I can immediately replenish moisture before applying the emulsion, and it definitely seems to provide more hydration to my skin.
ConsPersonally, even though I have dry skin, I don't really like sticky textures, so I prefer this type of formula. However, while it's moisturizing enough for those with dry skin, it's not oily. It doesn't give the feeling of locking in moisture, so you might need to apply additional layers.
TipRecently, when my face felt hot due to intense sunlight, I soaked a cotton pad generously with this toner, put it in the fridge for a bit, and then applied it to my face. It quickly soothed the heated areas, which was wonderful!
