The cream has very little oil, so it seems suitable for combination or oily skin types. As a person with combination skin that lacks moisture, I found that it did not cause excess oil the next morning and felt comfortable. Surprisingly, it also effectively addressed dryness. Even with my sensitive skin, I experienced no breakouts or irritation while using this product. Instead, my skin texture became smoother and more comfortable. This is likely due to the adequate moisture supply, which helped regulate sebum production. Although the price is a bit high considering the volume, I plan to repurchase this product.
ConsThe application is not smooth. It is very thick and sticky!! Applying it makes my skin feel like it's being pushed, as if wrinkles might form... But aside from that, everything else is good, so I just continue using it... The small volume is disappointing, as it gets used up quickly. If you have dry skin with insufficient sebum production, this product may not be enough. I would recommend using an additional facial oil.

As a combination skin type with acne and dehydration, my face becomes extremely dry as soon as early fall comes. I've been struggling to find the right winter cream for the past 3-4 years, but I don't use it on its own. When I mix the Ectoin Derma Cream with my regular moisturizer that works well for me, it doesn't cause any breakouts and my skin doesn't feel tight. I've probably spent over 1 million won on other creams that didn't work for me.
ConsThe price is a bit on the higher side. Even though I mix it with another cream, it can be burdensome to use it on its own.
TipEveryone, please try mixing it just once!!!!! For those with acne-prone skin, try mixing it with your regular moisturizer that works well for you. Or you can reduce the amount of the Ectoin cream, and it will work great.

It has a rich texture, but provides adequate moisture and works well. When used with a serum, it applies more easily!
ConsIt's quite thick, so it doesn't spread very well on its own. That aspect was a bit inconvenient.

However, this is a product that can give you that 'holy grail' feeling for a while. I say this because I think I'll continue using this product even as my skin gets drier with age. I started using this product after hearing good things about it from those around me. In my research, I found that this was one of the least oily products, so I gave it a try. Now, I've stopped making my own creams and am on my second bottle of this product. I haven't been able to review it for a while since I stopped using other commercial products. Looking at the ingredients, there's hardly any oil. The main active ingredients that directly affect the skin are glycerin, panthenol, and caprylic... just those three. Caprylic... that's an oil, but it's listed after panthenol, so the oil content is probably no more than 5%. This product contains 5% panthenol. The rest are just additives like texture, emulsifiers, and preservatives. But as they say, panthenol is very hydrating, and this product does feel very moisturizing and cooling. However, with minimal oil, this may not be enough for more mature skin. I don't use this alone either. There are two types of moisturizers - occlusive and humectant. Occlusive is mostly oil-based. In other words, there's hardly any occlusive moisturizing here. Personally, I apply this and then mix in some jojoba oil, vitamin E, and squalane as a face oil. It's also great under sunscreen, as it's non-oily and very hydrating. Among the sunscreens I like, the ones that are too oily or drying work well with this. In theory, this should work for both oily and mature skin types. But individual skin may react differently.
ConsIt's quite thick. I've seen reviews saying this can be problematic. The thickness makes it hard to spread evenly on the face. I don't really like that feeling of the product sliding around. Probably has to do with the xanthan gum in the formulation.

ConsIt didn't work for me :( Something like closed comedones appeared :( The application is a bit lacking... It applies well when the skin is hydrated, but not as well when the skin is dry

I have sensitive skin that gets easily irritated and turns bright red like a beacon even with the slightest stimulation. But with the Ectoin Derma Cream, I didn't feel any redness or irritation at all. It also gave me a strong sense of relieving the dryness. I could see it absorbing quickly into my skin, so I felt very satisfied using this product. It didn't feel sticky or greasy like some other rich creams. After just a brief moment, it left my skin with a nice, nourished finish.
ConsThe formula is a bit tricky to spread evenly all at once, so it takes some effort to get the right amount applied.

As for the current state of my skin, the inside lacks both moisture and oil, while the outside lacks moisture but has excess oil. However, since I have seborrheic dermatitis, using oils makes my skin itchy and inflamed! The only moisturizer that didn't cause inflammation was the Sidmool Real Moisture Cream, but it couldn't solve the hydration issue, so I bought this and it's amazing. Ectoin seems to be such a great ingredient... Meeting Ectoin has increased my quality of life and happiness, so I don't have to go to the dermatologist anymore.
ConsThere isn't any yet. How happy I am to be able to easily purchase the Ectoin cream!

Before using it, I suffered a lot from sudden adult acne and milia. I have combination skin, with an oily T-zone but an overall dry and tight face. After using it for a week, my skin has improved by about 70%. There's no oil product, so it doesn't clog pores or cause excessive sebum, which is great. I just placed another order. I've tried various Sidmool products, and this cream-type one is the gentlest and best. The ingredients aren't heavily mixed, which is good, and the packaging is cute and compact, so it's great for traveling.
ConsI wish they made a larger size. It's the usual issue with the product size. One bottle lasts me about a month, so having to buy one every month doesn't feel very cost-effective... Also, for those with dry skin, this product can be a bit drying. It's best to apply an essence or ampoule with more hydrating properties after using this.
TipThis pairs well with the Sidmool Panthenol Ampoule. Mixing it with a hydrating ampoule and applying it is a winning combination!

ConsThe volume is too small The absorption and spreadability are lower compared to other creams
TipIf you apply too much, the makeup may cake, so apply an appropriate amount

They exclude unnecessary ingredients and are focused on basic moisturization and the Ectoin component, so they are perfect for using during the recovery period when my skin is painful. When I apply it at night and wake up, my skin is soothed and the redness has significantly decreased. It also doesn't feel sticky at all and leaves my skin smooth.
ConsThere were no downsides. However, after my skin has recovered to a certain extent, it might be good to also apply products containing other ingredients as a supplement.
TipMixing the ampoule with it improves the spreadability.
