To be honest, I never expect much from skincare products. I think skincare is just skincare. Especially with dark spots - even dermatologists struggle with them, and even laser treatments can't guarantee improvement. So I bought this for my mom without high hopes, thinking 'might as well give it a try'. It's been about six months now, and there's a noticeable difference. It's not a dramatic overnight change where you apply it one day and the spots vanish the next - that's definitely not the case. But with consistent use, the dullness in her complexion has significantly reduced. The price is, well, a bit of a drawback. I find myself eagerly waiting for discounts to the point where I'm practically hanging by a thread! But then again, I remind myself that this is the going rate for effective skincare. So I continue to purchase it, seeing it as an act of filial piety. Sometimes when I'm not feeling my best, I notice redness flaring up. I called the customer service where I bought it, and they advised applying it after thoroughly cleansing and ensuring both oil and moisture are fully absorbed or removed. Following this advice seems to have helped, though I'm not sure if it's just because it's summer or if it's all in my head! - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 4, 2019
The positives? Well, let's see. Even with a discount, buying two sets costs over $100. Using them every other day, two sets last about 3 weeks. They say you'll see noticeable results after 4 weeks, which means I'd need to buy another set. I blame myself for falling for the advertising. As I write this review, I'm down to my last application out of 12 (for both sides). Dark circles under my eyes are my only skin concern, and I deeply regret buying two sets on a whim. At night, I think they might have faded a bit, but come morning, there's hardly any difference. And it's not like my dark circles are severe - they're easily covered with makeup. I don't have any ill feelings towards Arpe, I just ordered two sets with high hopes after seeing their ad. If there had been reviews on Hwahae, I would have made a more informed decision. I'm afraid of going to clinics and it's not always feasible, but it seems they're still the best option for tackling dark spots and blemishes. While makeup can cover these issues, if you're hoping for flawless bare skin, I absolutely cannot recommend this product. This isn't exactly a pro tip, but Arpe suggests applying eye cream before the patches for better results. However, when I did this, the patches fell off during the night. I even went as far as taping the patches on. It's just so frustrating to have spent around $120 on this with such disappointing results.
