The large size and affordable price seem to be the main advantages. A friend recommended it to me, saying it's not only budget-friendly but also effective at removing makeup. Oh, it's so irritating! It doesn't suit my skin at all. I bought it because it was cheap, but after using it twice, I'm wondering how I'll ever finish it. The fragrance is overwhelmingly strong too... It feels like I've wasted my money. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 24, 2020
I like that it effectively removes light makeup It's just okay overall. Those with acne or blemishes might feel a slight tingling sensation. It doesn't remove mascara, but it does a good job of taking off light makeup - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 4, 2020
The price is quite affordable for the amount you get. I can't think of any other positives though. I've used many cleansing waters before and never experienced any tingling, but this one stings so much I can't use it... - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 30, 2020
Initially, I bought this cheap product to remove makeup stains from my padded jacket. Since I ran out of my usual cleansing water, I decided to use the rest of it to remove my makeup. I hadn't changed any other products in my routine except for this cleansing water. After using it for a few days, I noticed something red and rash-like appearing above my eyes, spreading like a wound. I even got some blemishes. It's extremely irritating, and my face feels very tingly. Even though I have super sensitive skin, I've never experienced such severe blemishes before. I can usually use most products without issues, but this one really doesn't seem right for me. I strongly discourage those with sensitive skin from using it. I've used about half the bottle, but I've only been applying it to my face for about a week or two (I used a lot to clean my clothes). It's way too tingly, and I think this product just doesn't suit me at all. I bought it for casual use before I knew about the Hwahae app. Rather than feeling like I wasted money, I realize how uninformed I was. From now on, I'll make sure to research products thoroughly before buying. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinOct 4, 2019
I didn't feel any dryness, probably because I use this after my cleansing water and before my foam cleanser! The amount is generous and it's affordable, so I think it'll last a long time! The cleansing effectiveness isn't bad either~ Even though I don't have super sensitive skin, it stings so much when I use it. While it doesn't cause blemishes, my skin tingles and turns red every time I use it. I'm using it with hesitation, wondering if I should continue... - Hwahae UserDry SkinSep 6, 2019
The quantity is generous... but that's only useful if you can actually use it... I have dry skin that only occasionally experiences mild allergic reactions when it's extremely dehydrated, which quickly resolves with moisturizing. My skin isn't particularly sensitive, but this cleansing water was a terrible match for me. From the moment I applied it to my face with a cotton pad, the tingling sensation was intense... it was the worst I've ever experienced. I thought it might just be an initial adjustment period, so I tried it a couple more times, but the stinging persisted. Looking at other reviews, it seems many others had similar experiences. Even after following up with a cleansing foam for a double cleanse, the burning sensation lingered. I won't be using this again. Interestingly, my sister doesn't experience any stinging and uses it without issues. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 4, 2019
I thought the word 'carbonated' meant it would be harsh on my skin, but it wasn't as intense as I imagined. It's similar to regular cleansing water. Let me share the positives first: Volume: I bought it on sale for 9,900 won, and I'm satisfied with the large volume for the price. It's rare to find such a big size at this low cost. Scent: I'm quite sensitive to fragrances, but this one wasn't bothersome. Since I use a foam cleanser for my second cleanse, I didn't pay much attention to the scent during the first cleanse when removing makeup. Cleansing: I wear heavy eye makeup, including eyeliner, mascara, and shadow right up to the waterline. It didn't remove everything in one go. I soak a cotton pad and hold it for 3-5 seconds before wiping, but it didn't clean as thoroughly as I'd like. I had to use a cotton swab separately for my waterline, outer corners, and inner corners, which was a bit inconvenient. Still, considering the price I paid, it removes makeup fairly well. Irritation: Because my eye makeup is quite heavy, I need to remove it properly during the first cleanse using cotton pads and swabs. However, this cleansing water really stung my eyes. It felt unpleasantly warm and irritating. It's like having bloodshot eyes, and they feel dry. I'm still using it until I switch to a different cleansing water, though. Redness: I naturally have redness and blemishes on my skin. When I use this cleansing water to remove makeup, my skin immediately turns red and feels irritated as soon as I wipe with the soaked cotton pad. It does remove face makeup quite well, but I'm worried about the skin irritation that comes with it. (As shown in the photo, just one swipe on my wrist immediately caused redness) Blemishes: While using this cleansing water didn't cause visible acne or pimples, my skin texture became uneven with tiny bumps, and my complexion isn't what it used to be. I'm not sure if I'm using it incorrectly, but it seems to aggravate my blemishes even more. The persistent redness is concerning. For those who wear light makeup, you could probably finish your cleansing routine with just this cleansing water followed by rinsing with water. Honestly, I'd recommend spending a bit more money or doing more research to find a better cleansing water. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 3, 2019
The scent was lovely! It removed makeup quite well too. While it might not completely erase lip or eye makeup, it does a decent job. I always double cleanse, so it worked fine for me. The large volume is a big plus - with cleansing water, you need to saturate the cotton pad properly for effective makeup removal, and having a generous amount means I can use it liberally without worrying about running out. While using it, I felt a stinging sensation around my cheeks and mouth, and my skin quickly felt dry. There wasn't much hydration, so my face felt tight. Since I have super sensitive skin, the irritation lasted quite a while. Even when I applied toner and emulsion at night after removing makeup, it still stung. Interestingly, this only happened on days when I used makeup and this cleansing water. I'm not entirely sure why, but the stinging sensation always lingered longer on days I removed makeup with this cleansing water. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I always followed up with a cleansing foam right after using the cleansing water, gently massaging my face. If I could offer a tip, timing seems crucial. If you don't wash your face immediately after using the cleansing water, your skin can feel very tight! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 14, 2019
First off, I loved the generous amount. Two of us used it for over 5 months, which shows how long-lasting it is. I think I bought it on sale for around $5. The biggest advantage is definitely getting a large quantity at an affordable price! Maybe because I have super sensitive skin, my cheeks felt quite tingly. So after using this cleanser, I always follow up with a second cleanse using water and a low pH foam cleanser. That's my routine, but the person I share it with doesn't find it irritating at all. For reference, they have dry skin. If it weren't for the tingling sensation, it's a great value for the amount you get! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 18, 2019
I bought this when it was on sale for 9900 won. It's a great value - large quantity at an affordable price, so I can use it without worrying about running out. Unlike other cleansing waters I've used before, this one stings my eyes when removing eye makeup. I regret buying such a large bottle now that I know it causes tingling. Also, I wear very minimal eye makeup daily - just a thin layer of one eyeshadow and eyeliner, no mascara - but even this light makeup doesn't come off easily with this product.
