And when I used it on the parts that felt hot, it calmed down.
ConsIt was difficult to use in the winter, and the tube... when it was almost used up, it didn't come out well, so I had to cut it and use it. And the amount is on the small side, so it gets used up quickly.

If the rich night cream feels a bit burdensome, this would be a good option. It's a versatile product that can be used comfortably. I recommend this for those with oily skin. Oh, and the photo doesn't capture the color accurately, but it's a bright baby pink shade!
ConsI didn't notice any improvement in redness and the moisturizing is lacking. Why is it a night cream when... I had to layer it 3 times to use it, but it still felt a bit insufficient. I think it would be good for oily skin types in the summer. I tend to get quite dehydrated in the winter, so even with 3 layers, I felt like I used it up quickly...
TipIf a single layer is not enough, try layering it multiple times!

ConsThe ingredients were good, and I bought it based on a YouTuber's recommendation, but since my skin is prone to clogged pores and I have redness in the winter, when I applied it broadly, I ended up with fungal acne... Even when I applied it to the specific problem areas later, it didn't really have a calming effect. I'm disappointed, as it was a product I had high expectations for.
TipI've been just lurking on Hwahae for years, but now I'm writing reviews to get advice and to help others. My skin type is sensitive to clogged pores, and it's difficult to balance the oil and moisture levels. The drier it gets, the more stubborn closed comedones appear. If I add oil, my pores get clogged and break out, but if I add moisture, it dries out and I still get breakouts. My skin is extremely sensitive - it's more closed comedones than cystic acne, and it can even get irritated and inflamed from certain products. Skin types are all different, so please take my review as a reference, and I hope you find products that work well for your skin!

Remembering that I had received a Cica sample, I applied it generously morning and evening for 2 days, and immediately purchased the full-size product. The soothing effect is really good. It's effective not only for acne and millet, but also for redness. It's even more noticeable after the laser treatment. The texture is basically moisturizing, and it's a bit thick, but it's not heavy at all and spreads smoothly without stickiness. The refreshing finish makes it suitable for all skin types. Dry skin types may find it drying if used alone, so it's better to use it with other products.
ConsIt has become a holy grail product for me... The only downside is that I wish they would release a larger size. I'll add a review after finishing a whole bottle. The redness effect seems to diminish a bit after the initial 2 weeks, but it's still effective for the millet. As a combination skin type, by the end of winter, my lip and chin areas became quite dry when using this alone. Mixing 2-3 sprays of toner and a couple drops of desert date oil worked perfectly.
TipOn days when your skin is extra sensitive and irritated, keep your skincare routine simple. After lightly toning your skin, apply the Cica balm in 2-3 thin layers. I like to take a pea-sized amount, warm it up in my palms, and gently pat it onto the areas that need the most soothing, like the dry or irritated spots. Then I use the remaining product on my forehead and nose. I sometimes do this 2-3 times, depending on how my skin is feeling. After laser treatments, your skin can get very sensitive and red, easily irritated - the Cica balm was a lifesaver during those times. This is a skincare trick I've learned through experience, and I highly recommend it. I've known the importance of a good skincare routine since the Enprani days, but this brand's basics are truly top-notch. Long live Holika Holika!

My skin also has acne and overall redness is a big concern for me! 🍀Soothing🍀 This product seems to be really effective for redness!!! When I apply it to my reddened and sensitive skin, it is visibly calmed by the next morning! It worked well not only on redness caused by external stimuli, but also on my natural redness!! Over time, I can see my skin becoming whiter. If you experience a soothing effect, I would give it 5 stars!!!!
ConsScent😤 I'm really satisfied with the product performance, but the scent is slightly unpleasant, like body odor...It's not a great feeling when I apply it to my face ㅋㅋㅋ However, the scent goes away over time, so it shouldn't be a problem for those who are not very sensitive to scents! Moisturizing💧 This product is a cream, but the moisturizing power is not particularly outstanding! In the current transitional season or winter, you'll need to apply an additional moisturizing cream. If you have an extremely oily skin type, a soothing cicacream or skin lotion might work well too!
TipThe texture is not overly heavy, but if you apply it thickly during the day, your makeup may shift. I found that applying it lightly during the day and then applying it thickly like a pack in the evening gave me better results!

My face definitely appears less red in the mornings and evenings, and I can even feel the benefits of my makeup application.🙊 #Spreadability & Moisturizing Since this is a balm-type product, a small amount spreads smoothly across the face, leaving a soft, supple finish. It also maintains a good level of moisture even until the next morning's cleansing, so the moisturizing effect is quite impressive! #Fragrance The product has a pale pink balm texture and the fragrance is almost undetectable, which didn't bother me much during application. #Packaging The tube-type packaging is hygienic and makes it easy to control the amount used, which seems economical. It's convenient to simply squeeze out and apply with my fingertips.😶
ConsHmm.. If I had to point out something, it would be that the moisturizing power is slightly less compared to the Physiogel or Hanyul creams I used before. This product might be better suited for transitional seasons rather than the peak of winter.

As someone with extremely sensitive skin, it seems really difficult to find the right products for me. First of all, I have: * Sun allergy * My skin gets completely disrupted when exposed to yellow dust, fine dust, temperature changes, or when using incompatible cosmetics. (Even hot water showers cause severe redness) * Spicy and stimulating foods also disrupt my skin. * For about 5 years after my initial contact dermatitis, I used steroid ointments all over my face. (Absolutely do not use them long-term like I did. It's disastrous.) I'm thankful to have found one more cosmetic product that suits my skin. Especially during the worst times of my skin condition before my period, even the products I normally use can cause my skin to get disrupted. Even if the ingredients are great, there are cases where they don't agree with my skin. The Hwahae Trial Reviewer period became a forced experimentation period for me, but luckily I got through it without any trouble. I received the Holika Holika Cica Rescue Skin and tested it by applying it only to half my face, using my usual products on the other half. There was no disruption or trouble, phew. Using just this product alone was a bit drying for me, so I used the following routine: * Left side: Aromatica Aloe Gel -> Desert Essence Jojoba Oil -> Beyond Angel Aqua Ceramide Cream * Right side: Aromatica Aloe Gel -> Desert Essence Jojoba Oil -> Holika Holika Cica Rescue Skin Redness Calming Cica Balm The left side with the Beyond product was a bit less drying. But since it contains shea butter, I did get a few milia around 2-3 spots. It was fine in the dead of winter though. The Holika Holika product was a bit drier than Beyond, but didn't cause any trouble. For those with dry skin, layering it with other products would likely work well. The application was smooth and soft due to the high moisture content. It applies smoothly and softly. I was startled when I saw the pinkish tone, thinking there were color additives, but upon checking the official website, it said the pink tone comes from the inclusion of effective calming ingredients like safflower extract, not artificial colors. That's a relief! When I used it on half my face for 2 weeks, it definitely had a calming effect and didn't cause any trouble for me. However, I'm not sure about the reduction in redness. The website claims an 8-fold reduction in redness based on clinical trials, but I guess it may vary depending on the type of redness. The website photos seem to be of someone with acne-prone skin. As for me, I have contact dermatitis, not acne-prone skin, and my skin has become thin and sensitive from long-term steroid ointment use. While there was no reduction in redness, the fact that it didn't cause any trouble is enough for me to consider purchasing it. It's so hard to find cosmetics that suit sensitive skin like mine.
ConsIt's a bit drying for use in the winter. And could you also make a larger size? While the current size is good for carrying around in a pouch or for workouts, I think it would be nice to have a larger home-use size as well.
TipApplying oil after the skin or essence, and then using cream as the final step, resulted in less dryness compared to using cream first and then oil as the last step. I happened to come across this tip on Director Pai's blog and decided to switch the order, and my skin feels more hydrated and plump.
