I'm writing this in the desperate hope that Clio will bring back this discontinued product. I rarely write reviews like this and have never begged a company to remake a discontinued or reformulated product before (though I couldn't resist calling yesterday). That's how strongly I feel this product should not disappear. My skin is dry, becoming combination in summer. This product suits most skin types well (except extremely dry skin). In summer when I sweat a lot, its semi-matte finish doesn't break down unattractively - it actually wears beautifully with minimal breakdown. The longevity is truly outstanding. In terms of adherence and lightweight feel, it's the best cushion I've ever used. For those with dry skin, if you prep well and use this over Cellfusion C sunscreen, it won't look patchy and performs great. It does transfer a bit to masks, but patting it gently restores its staying power. Before masks were common, this product showed me what 12-hour wear really means. It has incredible staying power even through sweat and swimming. For an unbeatable long-wearing combination, pair it with a slightly mattifying sunscreen like Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun+ after thorough skincare prep. This combo would likely suit oily skin types well. Those with dry skin should be extra diligent with skincare to avoid emphasizing flakiness. I've tried 3 other Clio cushions before (Ampoule, Kill Cover Founwear, and one I can't recall) and always found them to break down messily, so I had sworn off Clio. But this product is my absolute summer must-have - I go through about 2 sets a year. I recently tried their new Stay Perfect Cover Cushion (pictured in the black case on the right), but it breaks down as unattractively as their other cushions, which is why I'm writing this review in despair. Please, Clio staff, I beg you to bring this back! I can't survive summer without it! Absolutely none! This is truly the ultimate summer cushion! As mentioned above, since this product has a semi-matte finish, those with dry skin should focus on thorough skincare prep. I use COSRX Propolis Toner, the same line's ampoule, Aestura Cream MD (available at dermatologists and online), Cellfusion C white sunscreen when it's less hot, and Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun+ in peak summer for stronger staying power due to sweat. With my dry skin, I found that thorough skincare prep prevents patchiness. For those with oily skin, a lighter skincare routine than mine might work well with this cushion. - m3********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 3, 2020
I highly recommend this foundation for those with oily skin - it leaves a wonderfully matte finish and offers impressive coverage! Unfortunately, it's hard to find in physical stores. Also, it tends to transfer a bit as time passes. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 6, 2020
I'd like to add some thoughts after comparing this cushion with others at Olive Young. The Stay Perfect seems lighter than other Clio cushions. Rating: 4/5 I have combination dehydrated skin with a shade 22 complexion. I typically use cushions for touch-ups rather than as a base. Before this, I used about 3 compacts of the NARS cushion. Despite liking it, I switched because of the stearic acid ingredient. I've been replacing all my cosmetics to avoid this ingredient, but it's hard to find cushions without it. That's why I decided to try this less-known cushion, and I'm satisfied! The texture is neither matte nor dewy, but rather powdery. 1. Ingredients The formulation seems good compared to other cushions. I love that it's stearic acid-free. 2. Thin skin coverage I didn't use the NARS cushion for morning makeup because it applied thickly despite its good adherence and lasting power. This one has slightly less coverage but applies thinly, which I absolutely love! It's perfect for light makeup in the mornings. It feels so comfortable, like I'm not wearing makeup at all. 3. Doesn't break down messily For me, how a product breaks down is more important than its longevity. I hate when makeup breaks down in an unsightly way. This product, perhaps due to its thin application, doesn't do that. After about 8 hours, it seems to fade away neatly. I prefer this, but it might be a matter of personal preference. 4. Price and packaging I used to have the Kill Cover mirror case, but I didn't like the packaging. This one has a simple, pretty case. The lowest online price is about 13,000 won, and it's around 17,000 won with Coupang Rocket delivery. 1. Limited availability For some reason, it's not sold in offline stores and is hard to find online. I usually buy all my cosmetics duty-free, but it's not available there either. 2. Difficulty in color selection NARS Finland is usually a perfect match for me. I debated between Linen and Ginger and chose Linen, but it feels slightly light. I'll use it thinking of it as a brightening effect. This cushion seems to have no significant drawbacks in any aspect! That's why I plan to repurchase it. However, I wouldn't recommend it to those looking for perfect coverage. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 11, 2019
The ingredients were good, so nothing broke out and it wasn't too drying. The coverage is a bit weak, and it tends to get quite oily. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinNov 14, 2019
The ingredients seem to be pretty decent. I have very sensitive skin, but it seems to work fine for me! The coverage doesn't seem to be that great... I have really bad redness, and it couldn't completely cover it up. And the most important thing... the pores are way too emphasized. I don't know if it's because I have dry skin, but even though I had a solid base, the bumps are still clearly visible... It also feels a bit tight. I bought it because the ingredients were good, but I don't really want to use it anymore... The photos are before and after. Somehow the after looks drier and my skin looks worse, haha. +In the morning when I went out and came back at night, it puffed up a lot... I think it's also because it's winter, but really think it through before buying! I didn't realize I had this many bumps on my face, haha. They look really prominent. The last photo is the one taken after going out (flipped horizontally). - da********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinNov 6, 2019
The coverage was really good even though it didn't get too cakey. The longevity also seemed fine without needing touch-ups. My skin is sensitive, but lately I haven't been getting any breakouts, to the point where I thought my skin was getting better. However, after using this product, I developed cystic acne and closed comedones on my skin within a day. My forehead and chin went crazy... The blemishes are protruding so much that they can't even be covered by other products. Since the coverage is so great, the cleansing also doesn't work well, and my face got irritated from trying to remove it. My face turned red with peeling, and even just applying moisturizer hurts now. I'm at a loss for how to fix this... I checked the ingredients before buying, so I don't understand why this happened..... - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 22, 2019
It's much better than the existing Water Grip. I wonder why it's not yet famous... The cushion is good, the ingredients are good, and the lasting power is much better than the previously famous Water Grip. Even though it's dry, there's no feeling of tightness or accentuated peeling. I really wonder why it's not yet famous. Maybe it's better that it's less famous? ㅜㅜ Please don't discontinue it. I want to keep buying it in the future. - go********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 29, 2019
This is quite nice The coverage is satisfactory, and it covers the dark areas well, though it's not perfect. And the longevity is good too! It's great that there are no pore-clogging ingredients. Hmm.. It can look a bit oily at times. After continuous use, the longevity wasn't that great, and I tend to get some breakouts when I get home after wearing it..ㅜ - sa*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJul 31, 2019
✔ Ingredients ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was glad that there were no pore-clogging ingredients, unlike the cushions or other Clio lines available on the market 🤣 It was only recently that I realized stearic acid and similar pore-clogging ingredients don't work well for me, and I had been so stressed out by the constant appearance of closed comedones and occasional cystic acne. After completely overhauling my skincare routine from the base to the cushion, my skin troubles have hardly resurfaced, and I'm just so happy about it,,😭 ✔ Coverage ⭐⭐⭐ To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for the coverage since the ingredients were so good, but it does a decent job of concealing blemishes and redness👍 However, it emphasizes textural irregularities and can settle into fine lines, so it may not be the best choice for those who prioritize full coverage 👎 ✔ Application ⭐⭐⭐ I use the included puff, and the cushion applies very smoothly and adheres well. But due to the matte finish, if you don't have a solid skincare base, it can really accentuate flaky skin,,😭 ✔ Shade ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was worried the yellow-based 21 shade would make me look too yellow, but the balance between the pink and yellow undertones is just right 🤗 For those who usually wear 21 or lighter shades, the Linen color option might be a good choice. ✔ Longevity ⭐ You absolutely have to set it with powder. It melts away with just a little sweat, and a single swipe of your hand can remove it all,, it's really no joke,,😭😭 It's too drying for winter use, but in the summer, the sweat makes it disappear,, the longevity is really disappointing ✔ Offline Availability X Not being able to test the shades in person is a bummer 😭 I've tried using other cushion puffs, but the one that comes with it seems to give the best adhesion! - mi******Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 15, 2019
I used to be a cushion nomad because anything I used would irritate my skin and cause trouble, but this one doesn't cause any issues or irritation, so I'm really happy about it!! I've finally found my perfect match! 1. As a semi-matte product, it seems to suit my oily skin better. 2. The ingredients are relatively gentle. 3. Even when applied thinly, the coverage is still quite good. Since I have oily skin, excess oil sometimes comes up and causes it to look a bit uneven. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my skin or the product itself, but other than that, I'm quite satisfied with it. The only downside is that it's only available online, so I couldn't test it out before purchasing. I've been applying a pore-minimizing sunscreen first, and then layering this product on top in a thin layer. For the winter, I think it would be better to use a more moisturizing sunscreen or primer before applying this. Please don't discontinue this product, I really hope it stays available!!
