The color payoff is excellent. I find the application smooth, so I use it versatilely as both a lip color and blush. However, compared to other shades in the same line, this Vivid Red is quite intense, so I mainly use it on my lips. When applied to the cheeks, it gives more of a reddish-purple hue rather than a pure red, which looks pretty but might be too vibrant for everyday wear. It's perfect for those days when you want to add a pop of color to your cheeks! With just a tiny amount, you get a lovely flushed red finish. As for the lip application, I usually struggle with matte lipsticks, but this one glides on smoothly and sets to a soft, matte finish. Just keep in mind that if your lips are very dry, it might be a bit difficult to apply directly, so I recommend using a lip balm first. The compact size is great for carrying in your purse or bag without taking up much space. When used as a lip color, it's quite similar to that famous red lipstick from MAC - in my opinion, they're quite alike!
ConsTo be honest, there are more downsides than I'd like. Firstly, it's not the most convenient. The tube format is fine when you have time and a mirror, but it's tricky for quick touch-ups on-the-go - you need a steady hand. The amount control is also an issue. If I squeeze some onto the back of my hand, there's always excess, and if I try to use less, too much still comes out (a tiny bit gives plenty of color, so there's always waste). Using it directly from the tube feels unhygienic. I wish the design was more like an ointment tube with a narrow opening, instead of this paint tube-like design. The opening is also prone to getting messy. I left it in my pocket with the cap on, and when I opened it later, product had oozed out all over, as shown in the photo. It seems sensitive to even slight pressure, so you need to be extra careful. The staying power on the lips isn't great, but it lasts well as a blush. Overall, I think this product line works better as a cheek color than a lip color. I own six shades including the new Berry Balm, but I use this Vivid Red the least. It's just a common red shade, and the others are prettier, so I tend to reach for those instead. The color payoff is almost too good, making it hard to apply casually. But I must say, the pigmentation is top-notch!
TipUsing a makeup sponge to pat it on works better than using your fingers for blush application - it prevents harsh lines. Also, applying a small amount of lip balm first helps it go on more smoothly.
