1. Great for students As a student, I bought this to wear to school. The color isn't too intense, making it perfect as a lip balm! The price is reasonable too. While the ingredients aren't the best, and I'm a bit sensitive to some allergens, it seems to be okay for me. 2. Moisturizing - perfect for winter It's really hydrating with great moisture content. It seems to help with dead skin cells too - just apply and gently exfoliate. I'm satisfied! As someone with very dry skin, I get a lot of flaking in winter. This can cover some of that to an extent. 3. Nice cooling effect and scent It has a cooling sensation when applied, like a peppermint candy. The candy-like fragrance is pleasant enough that I don't mind tasting a bit. The scent is a zesty candy aroma. While it might not be for everyone, I'm really happy with it. 4. Great lip plumping effect It really gives your lips a plump look with a subtle, glossy finish that's quite pretty! I think it's perfect for wearing to school. I bought the lightest shade, so there's barely any color. If you want more pigment, go for a higher number! 5. Packaging The packaging is a bit heavy, but the black heart embedded in the center of the lipstick is so pretty. I love you, YSL! While the presence of allergens is concerning... The fact that allergenic ingredients are listed towards the bottom suggests they're present in small amounts, so it might not be a big worry. Those with sensitive skin should still be cautious. Unlike many drugstore products that are full of PEGs and preservatives, this one is packed with colorants... Not sure which is better, but at least the colorants are food-grade, so I feel more comfortable using this than products with preservatives or PEGs. I have to admit YSL's ingredients aren't great, but I appreciate that they didn't use PEGs, preservatives, or BHT. I was shocked when I saw phenoxyethanol and BHT in BBIA products, which I thought had good ingredients due to their popularity... It's concerning that they use such ingredients in products likely to be used by students. At this point, I feel YSL lip products are safe to use. I'm planning to stick with YSL and MAC for lip products from now on. Also, it might be difficult to use as a regular lipstick. It would work well applied over a matte lipstick for added shine. Other than that, it's a lip balm with almost no downsides. You need to reapply 1-4 times for the best look! Make sure to apply in front of a mirror, or it might clump.
