I'm comfortably using this more for replenishing my skin's moisture barrier rather than for its oiliness. It has a texture between a toner and a gel, and I love the scent. It's especially great in summer when I can't stand stickiness - I just apply this, followed by a thin layer of cream, and I'm good to go. It doesn't give that deep, penetrating hydration feeling. The hydration is okay, but the nourishment is just so-so. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 24, 2020
The intense British Rose fragrance is so lovely you could use it as a hand cream. The scent is truly delightful. While the texture is as rich as an essence, its hydration power isn't great. It feels sticky and moist right after application, but compared to other toners, the moisturizing effect doesn't last long. (Though toners aren't primarily for hydration, even when applied generously, it tends to dry out quickly despite its rich texture). Occasionally, there's a slight irritation (a burning sensation). - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedMay 18, 2020
When I was in Australia, this was my go-to product every winter. It's a lotion-type formula that provides both moisture and hydration to the entire face. I absolutely loved it! Due to its lotion-based formula, I wouldn't recommend it for summer use, especially for those with blemish-prone or oily skin. - to******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinApr 28, 2020
Oh my goodness... As they say, knowledge can be a burden. I was absolutely shocked when I checked the ingredients on Hwahae! I just can't give it a high rating now. When I was abroad and ran out of toner, I went to The Body Shop since I was familiar with it and occasionally used their products. The staff recommended this, saying it was great for dry skin, so I bought it. Before that, I'd sometimes use their tea tree and youth lines. While I don't use it anymore, the Kiehl's Calendula toner was a long-time favorite for my sensitive skin, and this has a similar texture and appearance. It has a sticky, mucus-like consistency with little leaf-like particles inside. I mainly used it as a watery toner, but sometimes as a more concentrated one too. The scent is distinctly rosy, and even though I'm not a fan of floral scents, this one feels comfortingly herbal. That was probably what I liked most about it. It's a bit sticky, but if you pat it in carefully, it absorbs well. For dry skin in winter, it was quite satisfying. However, when my skin became more sensitive, it felt irritating. While it made my skin feel moisturized on the surface, it didn't seem to penetrate deeply. After switching to using it as a concentrated toner, I only use it occasionally as an essence substitute. But oh my, the ingredients... they're really concerning. I used it as an essence substitute. Sometimes even essences can be irritating, so in those cases, I'd finish my routine lightly with just this toner after cleansing, followed by a cream. - io****Combination SkinAcne SkinDec 12, 2019
I'm in the process of changing my skincare routine, and among The Body Shop's basic products, this one was relatively less irritating to my skin. Although it's a toner, it has a gel-like consistency which absorbs slowly, so I apply it with a cotton pad and gently pat it into my skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinNov 29, 2019
It absorbs well and applies smoothly. I appreciate the generous size of the product. After application, I felt a warming sensation and my skin felt suffocated, like it couldn't breathe. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it, especially since there are many products with better ingredients at a similar price point. - zz***Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 2, 2019
I bought this after it was recommended in-store for dry and sensitive skin, and I'm so impressed! It's incredibly hydrating, almost like an essence. The rose scent isn't ordinary - it's luxurious and absolutely delightful. Be cautious when using this on days after exfoliation or when your skin feels extra sensitive, as it can cause a slight burning sensation. It's so hydrating that it feels like a watery toner. For best results, pat it in gently like an essence after cleansing. This method helps it absorb well, leaving your skin feeling moisturized for hours. - se****Combination SkinSensitive SkinSep 25, 2019
1. Hydration This toner has a viscous texture, similar to an essence. Due to its consistency, it absorbs slowly but provides excellent moisture. 2. Subtle rose fragrance The rose scent improves my mood. It's not an artificial rose smell, so it's less off-putting. Applying it makes me feel good and has a calming effect. 3. Long-lasting Since it doesn't absorb quickly, you don't use a lot at once. This makes it more economical compared to watery toners as it lasts longer. 4. Great for mixing with powder masks It pairs exceptionally well with Innisfree's green tea powder mask. When mixed, you can really feel the superior hydration compared to watery toners. It's great for making the green tea powder mask more moisturizing. 5. Attractive toner color and design The toner color looks luxurious, and I bought it because it was a limited edition. I think it's become an ongoing product now. The product design also played a part in my purchase decision. 1. Ingredients This product wasn't searchable on Hwahae when I bought it. So I just purchased it, but for a basic skincare product, the ingredients aren't great. If I had known, I wouldn't have bought it. 2. Slow absorption Due to its thick consistency, this toner absorbs slowly. I don't use it at all in summer and only use it in the evening. It takes some time to absorb in the morning. 3. Unclear if the particles dissolve There are flower petal-like particles inside. They're supposed to dissolve when applied, but... I'm not sure if they do. 4. Not particularly affordable Given the mediocre ingredients, it's not particularly cheap. For this price, I'd rather buy The Body Shop's Aloe Toner. This toner worked best when mixing with Innisfree's green tea powder mask.
