It has a great brightening effect and works perfectly as a base before applying makeup! Depending on the texture of the cream you used before, it might pill a little bit. Make sure to let the previous layer of cream absorb well before applying this one. - 8t********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 7, 2024
It didn't cause any blemishes, and my makeup applied smoothly over it. What I loved most was how it kept my skin from looking patchy even after hours of wear. The way it absorbs, the scent - everything was satisfying. The base effects aren't impressive enough to justify the price tag. - ky********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessMar 23, 2024
None... I generally love Chanel Beauty, but this is such a huge disappointment... The makeup pills and dead skin cells flake off. It ruins the entire skincare routine before even applying foundation. Absolutely the worst of the worst... Don't buy it - rk********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 18, 2023
I've been using this product for 8 or 9 years now. It functions as a primer, and when applied after skincare, it creates a perfect base. It keeps your skin moisturized underneath while leaving the surface feeling powder-soft, like it's sealing in your skincare before foundation. The scent is lovely, and I've never experienced any blemishes from it. It can potentially pill depending on the sunscreen or primer you use underneath, so make sure to test it before purchasing. If you notice your skincare pilling, try applying this product only on your forehead, nose, sides of the nose, and cheekbones. Use a more hydrating base for other areas to minimize pilling. I found that applying with fingers works best, better than using a brush or sponge. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 5, 2022
I love how it naturally brightens my complexion. The scent is pleasant too. It leaves my skin feeling soft and matte. You need to blend it well when applying. It's important to use a non-pilling sunscreen with this. If not applied correctly, it can cause pilling. - 51*****Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresMay 11, 2022
I'm using this as a brightening moisturizer. I haven't tried it as a base, so I'm not sure about pilling with makeup. It gives a natural brightening effect and has a thin consistency that absorbs well. The signature luxurious Chanel fragrance lifts my mood every time I apply it. Most brightening moisturizers these days include sun protection, but this one doesn't, so it's a hassle to apply sunscreen before using it. It really only functions as a tone-evening product, so it's not great in terms of value for money. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinApr 9, 2021
When I tried it at the department store, it had a brightening effect, but now that I'm using it at home, I can't seem to get the same results. It pills terribly and makes my makeup separate. I thought it would have a matte, powdery finish because of the matte claim, but it feels more like a slippery finish? It's neither matte nor glowy... It's really drying, and my makeup cakes up horribly. My friend is experiencing the same issue, so we're both feeling quite disappointed! Both my friend and I have combination skin. Sigh. - 10********Dry SkinSensitive SkinNov 29, 2020
1. The signature Chanel fragrance is absolutely divine 2. The fine particles and texture cling to the skin, brightening the complexion 1. May cause some deep dryness for those with slightly dry skin 2. Takes quite a bit of time to evenly apply - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 8, 2020
The fragrance is absolutely delightful. After application, I feel enveloped in this wonderful scent. I love its emulsion-like texture, and it's great that even a small amount brightens my complexion. I'm using it solely as my brightening moisturizer. I'm not sure if it's due to the fragrance or the nature of brightening creams, but something seems to be causing issues. While I don't typically have super sensitive skin, I'm not certain what's causing the problem. It feels like there's an excess of oil, and I'm concerned it might be clogging my pores. It works great when mixed with a slightly darker foundation! I noticed it really evens out the skin tone of the foundation. - za******Dry SkinMar 24, 2020
Brightens the complexion. If I had to add one more thing, it has a pleasant apple scent. Apart from brightening the skin, I'm not sure about its other base functions. It might vary from person to person, but for me, it unfortunately causes makeup to pill. Also, it doesn't have any sun protection. It works more like a brightening moisturizer than a makeup base, giving you a radiant look when applied.
