It applies incredibly thin and smooth. It feels like it has powder in it? I love how a single thin layer can make such a difference in expression. The color payoff is great, making the tube itself look beautiful. I think it would be perfect for light-skinned individuals in summer, likely to stay put without budging. However, this formula didn't really suit me... During my color analysis, when a worn-out Flat Out Fabulous came out of my makeup bag, the consultant immediately said, 'Velvet Punch! It's Velvet Punch! Remember that!' So I waited for it to restock and snagged it, but something feels off... The formula is thin and tends to roll around on the lips. It works if you apply multiple layers as a full lip, but the moment any pressure is applied to the lips, it easily slides off. The color is gorgeous, but it seems to look best when applied thinly, just enough to let your natural lip color slightly show through. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 29, 2021
The matte formula isn't overly dry, but instead feels light, thin, and comfortable on the lips with a soft, powdery finish. As a winter cool-toned person with shade 13, I find the distinctly cool color tone blends seamlessly with my complexion without looking out of place. While the staying power might not be as long-lasting as other matte formulas, I honestly couldn't find any other drawbacks worth mentioning. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 22, 2020
It has a sweet flavor and feels velvety smooth when applied. The color is pretty too. It would likely suit those with cool undertones well. When used on its own, it somehow doesn't seem to adhere well to the lips. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinOct 31, 2019
As someone with a summer cool light complexion, this shade really brightens up my skin tone. It has a lovely orchid-like hue with a cool pink undertone that I absolutely adore. I've found it looks even prettier when I mix it with a touch of Ruby Woo on the inner part of my lips. Unfortunately, the staying power is terrible. It comes off immediately, even just from sipping through a straw. The color payoff is weak too - you need to apply multiple layers to get close to the true shade. There's also a slight pilling effect when applying, which seems common with Powder Kiss formulas. - ba*******Normal SkinRecommendedSep 15, 2019
I have a winter cool bright complexion with a 17 shade, leaning more towards yellow than pink undertones! ✔️ The absorbs well is excellent. Unlike Retro Matte lipsticks that can be difficult to apply and may crumble over time, this one feels very comfortable on the lips. ✔️ It doesn't have that typical nauseating MAC lipstick scent, instead it's pleasantly fragrant. ✔️ For winter cool tones aiming for a radiant makeup look, apply this lightly as a base on the lips, then add a vibrant shade in the center for a true 'lit from within' effect (e.g. All Fired Up). ✔️ The case design is cleaner and more sophisticated compared to the previous glossy versions. ✔️ While it absorbs well, unlike the Retro Matte line which can be dry and difficult to apply even on good lip days, this product tends to settle into lip lines too easily. ✔️ Sometimes it doesn't flatter the natural lip color. It's not a bright, high-saturation pink. Rather, it's a toned-down lip color with a purple base mixed with pink.
