It's even more appealing when recommended by a man rather than a woman. While described as a cool rose scent, the initial fragrance has a sharp note that gives way to a deep rose aroma. The lingering scent is a musky rose, making it more elegant than lively.
ConsThe initial scent might be a bit disappointing. It could remind you of hair spray, which some might find off-putting.

It's like a water-soaked rose with powdery notes, creating a unique scent unlike any other. While L'Ombre dans l'Eau has a mild touch, this one stands out as truly one-of-a-kind. The rose scent is clean and crisp, with a cool undertone. Its overall solid rose character makes it suitable for men as well. It's subjective, but this fragrance has less of that typical Byredo feel, making it more appealing to those who usually don't like Byredo (it lacks that signature sweet-spicy note often found in scents like Bibliothèque or Slow Dance).
ConsThe strong alcohol or dental clinic-like sharpness might be off-putting for some. True to its description as a fragrance for nurses, it features a prominent antiseptic smell.
TipWhile it's a fruity rose scent, the top notes are surprisingly cool. Unlike other floral-fruity fragrances that often feel sweet, mature, soft, and airy, this one reminds me of firm berries. It's not overly ripe, not tart, and while sweet, the sweetness isn't the main focus. It's more of an 'Oh, it's sweet' realization. This gives it a solid, almost rigid feel despite being in the floral-fruity family. Many rose fragrances lean towards Bulgarian rose (like Ara Rose, Une Rose, Red Rose), but as someone who doesn't typically enjoy those, I find this rose quite different. When smelling perfumes, you can often categorize them - this is L'Ombre dans l'Eau-like, this is Eau Rose-like, this is Bulgarian-like, this is Rosewater-like. So far, I've only experienced the Rosewater-type rose in Byredo's Rose of No Man's Land. (Separately, the note composition itself is unique. While there are rose-woody, powdery rose, and fresh floral scents out there, it's rare to find a base note that only consists of papyrus and amber.)
