The shimmering pearl-like glow of Hwahae was appealing... Even though I don't use it well, I keep coming back to it! I have combination skin - normal to dry, but in the summer it becomes an oil festival and I turn oily. The base has a subtle shimmer, with small, not overly large, pearls visible here and there. Personally, I don't like large pearls, and these didn't bother me too much. However, if I say I don't like seeing the pearls, then go for the Hwahae 9. It's basically silver, but when the flash hits, other colors are visible too. Of course, that's when I look at it up close - from the front, it's a slightly warm pinkish-silver with a whitish Hwahae. It doesn't give a cyborg vibe, nor does it look like an apocalyptic warrior. The older version had the color payoff I was looking for... The recent Hwahae has a more intense base color, so there's no way I can use the 13 shade. It triggers a forced hangover makeup effect. And it has a subtle coral undertone, so it's not just pink. Instead, the base is more of a cool lavender-pink, like the Hwahae Tikal. I apply it with my fingertips, just on my forehead, the area in front of my eyes, and the tip of my nose.
