Foam cleansers are less irritating since you rinse them off at the end. Of course, I've also tried Aha and Bha toners and essences, but if you don't use them carefully, considering the amount, frequency, and your skin condition that day, your skin can just collapse, so I didn't prefer them. It's easier to lose than to gain, I should say... This is my first time using Pha, and it does seem gentler than Aha and Bha. I've been using it for about 2 weeks, cleansing with it 3-4 times a week in the evenings, and my skin texture and bumps have improved. It has adequate moisture and isn't heavy either. But if you ask me if I'd repurchase it... I'm not sure.... The product itself is good. It's not bad, but the exfoliation and sebum management method I was already using seems to be less burdensome for my skin.
ConsIn conclusion, I find cleansing products more comfortable and less irritating than toner-type exfoliating products. To be precise, cleansing products are easier to use and less of a hassle. Even if toner-type products are non-irritating, they still get absorbed into the skin, and no matter how much you space out the usage or how good your skin is that day, it can just flip over... So I cleanse with the toner and then do a water rinse again shortly after... That ends up being two cleansing steps... That's why I don't really feel like doing it. It's a hassle... Plus, I tend to get easily reddened and sensitive when I cleanse, so I don't do it often. I only do it on days when my exfoliation is really bad. But layering this product multiple times to absorb it is too irritating, and since it's a functional product, it's not hydrating enough either. I'm too scared to even attempt a skin pack with the Pha toner... I used the Pha toner for 2 weeks, stopping the Bha cleansing foam, and it still ended up irritating my skin.
TipOf course, for those of you who exfoliate well with toners and have resilient skin, this would be an amazing product! Personally, I wish there was a Pha cleansing foam...
