I used to have this preconception that toners must always be gentle, which influenced my product choices and usage. When the package first arrived, I was surprised to see everything, from the padding to the wrapping, was made of paper. It really feels like they've paid attention to every detail, living up to their slogan of 'making premium an everyday experience'! Overall, this toner is impeccable in terms of both ingredients and feel. The texture is between a watery skin and a viscous one. It has just a slight stickiness, which I found perfect. As an exfoliating toner, I first wiped it with a cotton pad, then applied 2-3 layers. It absorbed into my skin beautifully! It kept my skin feeling fresh without being too dry or sticky. According to Hwahae, the ingredients list doesn't contain any harmful components and is generally gentle. The price is also very reasonable, making it easy to use without worry. A glass bottle at this price point! From the packaging, I could tell they put a lot of thought into hygiene and the container. This product greatly helped improve my skin texture. I started using it during my menstrual cycle when my skin was in terrible condition, causing me a lot of stress. But after a few days of use, my blemishes significantly subsided and my skin texture felt more refined. It's also been a huge help in calming my skin, so I'm 100% willing to keep using it consistently.
ConsWhen I first used it, the scent was so strong that I wondered if the product was really as gentle as claimed. The citrusy lemon smell is quite potent, which might be polarizing for some users. I gradually got used to the citrus scent as I continued using it, but I think it might be difficult for those who are sensitive to fragrances to use this product.

I get a cystic pimple during my period, and usually get small bumps when stressed or not feeling well. 1. Feel and Effectiveness I found it to be a product that replenishes moisture without being too heavy! I was previously using Innisfree Blueberry Rebalancing Skin (known for its good oil-moisture balance), but felt it was a bit light as the seasons changed. So I appreciated that the Simplyo product had more hydrating power! You can feel it absorbing into the skin rather than evaporating quickly. I didn't experience any breakouts or side effects while using it. (I'm not particularly sensitive to skincare products in general.) It seems to help build a skin barrier before things get too dry. However, I was secretly hoping for some brightening effects since it uses sea buckthorn water, but I haven't noticed any significant brightening yet - though it might be because I haven't used it for long. 2. Ingredients This product only contains EWG green-grade ingredients! It's made up of 83% sea buckthorn water, hyaluronic acid, betaine, and other natural moisturizing ingredients. 3. Texture It's like a water-based formula mixed with essence... It absorbs well but feels like it forms a protective layer on the skin. It flows down a bit slower than regular water formulas. The product opening is narrow, so it comes out drop by drop. 4. Value for Money 130ml for just $10! It's exactly $10, no frills. While there are many cheap large-volume toners from other brands, I think this product is hard to compare with just hydrating toners! It seems to function more like an essence, and at $10, I'd say it's good value for money. 5. Packaging The box tape, cushioning inside the box, product package, and even the sticker are all paper! It's more eco-friendly than plastic, and I personally love the paper feel, so I was really pleased when I first received it. It also came with a Simplyo brochure and sticker, which showed attention to detail.
Cons1. Scent It's citrusy but has a somewhat ambiguous scent...? When I smelled it, it wasn't to the point where I thought 'Wow, this fragrance is really great!' It has a slightly ambiguous scent. It smells like Ten-Ten (a Korean vitamin drink) or the vitamins you get at the pharmacy. 2. The container is glass, so it's a bit heavy. It might be difficult to carry around when traveling. Even during regular use, I've almost dropped it a few times, so I wish it was a little lighter.
TipI think this would be good for those with combination dehydrated skin to use in fall and winter! Actually, when I applied for The Hwahae Testers, I was worried it might be too heavy because they used the keyword 'glow', but after using it, I think it provides just the right amount of hydration for combination dehydrated skin. I believe it's not a bad choice for maintaining oil and moisture balance.
